Lord of the Rings: The Confrontation (Deluxe)

Lord of the Rings: the Confrontation is a 2-player, 30 minute board game in which one player takes control of the forces of Sauron, seeking to find their master’s ring, and another uses the Fellowship to destroy Sauron's ring in the fires of Mount Doom. It really captures the LotR theme in a limited time.

It's a tense, thematic game of bluffing and strategy that is among the best works, despite being out of print. Since he's my favorite designer, it's a labor of love. So I even tried including multiple languages.

This mod is a combination of the best elements of all three physical editions. So it includes the updated map, new artwork, and handouts that are scanned in high resolution. It has 18 new variant characters and new power cards, in addition to the classic characters and cards found in the original version. I created some help guides to get you started quickly.

Language independent character tokens allow non-English speakers to enjoy this game. I've also included manuals for German, Russian, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Finnish, and Italian. If any native speakers want to contribute translations of cards/tokens, send them my way to add. That allows many people to enjoy the game.

I'm indebted to the gameakers for this work, which is one of my favorite 2 player games. So I will of course take this down if requested. However, I hope many will get the opportunity to play this overlooked game and that it possibly finds it way back in print.
