The Akan Empire

Description
Description and Introduction

This mod adds a new decision for Akan characters in western Africa that allows them to establish the Akan Empire.

When I first started playing CK3, I noticed that a lot of the cultures in central and western Africa have unique titles in the place of count, duke, king, emperor etc. However, despite this welcome addition, the region is sorely lacking in flavour and content outside of the generic events and decisions that almost every character has access to. So, inspired by the region's unique titles, I decided to create this mod to give at least one of the cultures in western Africa a tiny bit more flavour.

Features

- A unique empire which can be founded by Akan characters through a new decision

- A unique event upon taking the decision

- A new region which must be entirely controlled to take the decision

- A new modifier which is applied to the county of Kumasi upon taking the decision

Effects

If you want the exact effects of the mod to remain a surprise then don't view the hidden text below

- Upon taking the decision you character is granted the Akan Empire

- Upon taking the decision, the de jure lands of the Empire of Guinea instead become the de jure lands of the Akan Empire

- Upon taking the decision, the new county modifier 'Royal Tolls' is applied to the county of Kumasi, which gives the county a 0.5 development growth boost, a 10% reduction in build speed, and a 10% reduction in build cost

- Upon clicking the option on the event, your character is given the epithet 'the Great'

Conclusion

I know this isn't the most substantial mod on the workshop, but I hope that you all enjoy it none the less. At the moment I am not intending to add anything else to this mod, however, if anyone has any suggestions for features that they would like to see then please comment below. If I like the sound of your suggestion, I may consider adding it to the mod.

Have you contacted BlackEmperor to see if he wants to implement this into his own Africa Plus mod? It would be perfect for it

Can you make it so that the decision is available of akan culture and its descendants, whether it's from diverge or hybridize?

No worries. Thanks for looking in to it. 👍

The Akan decision can only be taken by characters of the Akan culture, and the event wont appear at all unless that decision is taken. The most likely conflict would be another mod using the same tag for the event or decision as my mod, but that seems unlikely unless you have another mod that has events or decisions specifically for the Akan culture. Without knowing exactly what mod is causing the issue and why, there's not really anything I can do to fix it unfortunately. Thanks again for getting back to me though, and I'm really sorry that you're having this problem. Unfortunately this kind of thing is bound to happen when you run a lot of mods.

@donkeysaint thanks for getting back to me. From the information you've given and from what I've found looking into the issue, I'm fairly certain it's being caused by a mod conflict. If you have any mods that add decisions or events then it's likely one of them. I know widely used mods that add decisions and events such as VIET and the like are compatible, so I know it wouldn't be that.

Sorry I'll try to provide more info.

I do run an absurd amount of mods, more than 40 I believe. Yours was pretty far down the list since I figured it didn't conflict with anything else I was running. However, I don't recall the name of the event, but it gave my Norse heidinn emperor the nickname "the Great", and gave me the emperor title of "None", effectively striping me of my current. It was also reaccuring (after I had restored my title). It happened to character A three times, and once to his son (after which I took the reference to"the Akan" at heart and disabled the mod ;)).

Perhaps you can add some triggers to the event? Religion, culture and/or perhaps having certain provinces?

Let me know if you have any other mods enabled too. It's possible the issue could be caused by a mod conflict

@donkeysaint would you be able to tell me exactly what happened to cause the event to occur, or was it just seemingly at random? Thanks for letting me know though. I'll look into this

I aM playing a norse heidinn emperor, with an empire strecthing across northern Europe. Lately I have been recieving re-accuring events, naming me "the Great" of "the Akan", and removing my emperor title. One of your events needs a look at triggers.
