Downloading and Running Older Versions of Brick Rigs (revised)

So you can take a trip down memory lane and revisit some old features, bugs, and Easter eggs!

The Basics

Have you wanted to see what brick rigs was like back in the days

Or maybe not that long ago?

Have you wanted to test out older versions with your friends?

Well this guide will explain how you can Download and Run Older Versions of BR.

What you need

In order to download older versions,

We need to access the steam console

In any browser, type in the address bar: steam://nav/console

When it says

Click "Open Steam Client Bootstrapper"

Then you should see this:

Then you've accessed the Console

Downloading a Depot

Head over to This Website[steamdb.info]

This is where we get our data for which version to download

Next we need to select a version

On that website, look in the bottom left corner and click on "Depots"

Then from the Depots page look at the bottom, and under Depots, click 552101

Then from there, click Manifests

Then you should see this:

Next, head back to the console

Type into the console box at the bottom
download_depot 552100 552101 (then the version you want to download [ManifestID])

For this shot I am downloading version 7854290927906888699, the version 2 updates ago.


You can find the version on the right side of the manifests list. (the long number all the way on the right.)

Then, after its done, you can see where it ended up

Launching the game

Navigate to the location specified on the console

For me it was C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_552100\depot_552101

Open up another window of file explorer and go to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Brick Rigs

Delete (or move somewhere else) the existing files in the folder

Then go back to the folder where the depot was downloaded and move those files into the Brick Rigs folder.

Then go back to Steam and press Play

Having Fun

Once the game launches, feel free to explore and look around in an older version!
