This is the fourth mod in my efforts to diversify the high elf lineup a little in terms of both gender and colour...

So, the Harbinger chariot is a T5 unit that works quite differently to existing chariots. The idea here is that all three passengers are apprentice mages:
One mage of beasts
One mage of fire
One mage of the heavens

The mage of beasts is controlling the demigryphs that the chariot is harnessed to. This fine control enhances the already prodigious strength and ferocity of the demigryphs; the chariot component alone is a high-stat anti-infantry chariot. However as this is a single-model unit, even with the enhanced stats it is still less efficacious than a unit of Ithilmar or Lion chariots. The difference however comes from the mages of fire and heavens. As well as fighting when the chariot is surrounded, they will channel blasts of fire and wind towards nearby enemies periodically. The fire mage unleashes cones of fire frequently; each cone does small amounts of damage per unit, but can hit large numbers of units. Much less regularly, the mage of the heavens unleashes a massive blast of wind. This does little damage, but will knock enemies from their feet, providing both disruption and an opportunity for the Harbinger Chariot to escape if surrounded. The mage of the heavens also fashions a shield of wind to deflect arrows and spells away from her sisters in arms.


This unit is obviously very difficult to balance, but I've given it my best efforts. If you run it into dedicated anti-large infantry it still does not fare well, and it is terrible against single entities. Against masses of non-specialist infantry however it is extremely potent. Like all chariots, it is micro-intensive to use well. I hope people have some fun with it :)

Note: Getting a porthole working for a custom chariot unit is a bit beyond me at the moment I'm afraid, so sorry about the lack of porthole :(

Sound very interesting and creative, but for me the unit disapear from army, after reloading the game.

After loading in the campaign, the unit's HP will be changed to 0
