VIA Rail EMD F40PH

The F40PH-2D was built in the late 1980s for VIA Rail Canada by GMDD to serve as their modern passenger locomotive. A recent rebuild added an additional HEP Generator to provide power to the passenger cars. Today, they remain the mainstay of VIA's fleet, and are considered to be synonymous with Canadian passenger railroading. This particular unit, #6403, was featured on the Canadian $10 Bill!

1. Ensure that Infinite Electric is OFF
   
2. Press and hold Engine Start on back wall until engine is running
   
3. If using with other locomotives, set the control radio channel using the keypad on the back wall
   
4. Enable Control Desk switch on control desk of Controlling locomotive (All locomotives with Control Desk switch off will act as DPU locomotives)
   
5. Select direction of travel with reverser buttons
   
6. Increase throttle!
