More potent mage items *WIP*

Description
There are a few more things I'd like to do with this, as I get time, but I think people can have some fun with the pieces, in the mean time.

This mod attempts to help out the pure mage, especially at low levels, by providing a few trinkets and a couple of new spells to help them along.

The items and their locations are below, but be careful as some of them may make your game a bit too easy.

Among the items in the mod are...

The Ring of the Defender: Adds 60 to your armor, without interfering with mage armor perks. Also adds 15% magic resistance, 15% poison resistance, and 15% disease resistance. *note- the ring refuses to display the extra armor, but it does appear in your armor rating. When I was testing it, I made one at 567 armor and faced down a Deathlord with nothing but the ring and a weapon. It became apparent, when I took the ring off and put it back on a few times, that the extra damage resistance was working. (Found at the Mage Stone)

The Ring of the Bulwark: A more powerful version of the Ring of the Defender, conveying 120 in damage resistance, and 30% magic, poison, and disease resistance. (Worn by a couple of college mages, and Balgruuf's housecarl.)

The Ring of the Invulnerable: The big brother of them all, adding 240 to your armor rating, and 60% magic, disease, and poison resistance. (Found in the Archmage's safe)

The Ring of Mage Boost: This ring is helpful in two ways, chief among them that it boosts the damage output of destruction spells, rather than the cost reduction normally seen in enchantments. It can be disenchanted. (Located in the Imperial Torturer's bag, at Helgen Keep.)

The Ring of the Destroyer: A rare and powerful relic, which once belonged to one of the most deadly battlemages the Empire had ever seen. This ring increases destruction damage by 100%, while reducing cost by 50%. It cannot be disenchanted. (Found in the Archmage's safe.)

Staff of Ice Volley: This staff sends a small group of ice spikes toward your target, doing more damage and carrying a stagger effect. (Found next to the bed at Drelas Cottage.)

Spell Tome - Ice Volley: The same spell, known to the creation kit as "Wisp Volley," found in Faralda's hidden strongbox, in the Hall of Countenance.)

Scroll of Psychic Punch: Scrolls which allow you to deliver a stunning blow, taking your opponent off their feet. (Found on the dead mage in Helgen Keep, and in Farengar's office in Dragonsreach)

Spell tome - Psychic Punch: An adept level Alteration spell, similar to Telekinesis but pushing your opponent away. This is a short burst of staggering force, and requires only a quick tap to fire. (Found in the Augur's room, on a pedestal.)

Staff of the Psychic Blast: An extremely powerful staff, which delivers a concentrated force, similar to Unrelenting Force. This force remains in effect for as long as you are firing, and is a considerably more powerful push than Psychic Punch. (Found in Tolfdir's locker.)

Spell tome - Psychic Blast: A master level Alteration spell, allowing you to do what the staff does, without need of a staff. (Not yet placed in game...coming soon.)

Staff of the Dragon: Another extremely powerful staff, with the effect of carrying your own dragon. This produces blast of highly damaging fire, with twice the range of a normal staff, and a longer burning effect. (Found in the care of a wise and fearsome dragon, from any whose veins carry mere mortal blood.)

I'll be adding and tweaking things in the next week or so, schedule permitting. Let me know if you have any problems, and enjoy the power.

Thanks to Bethesda, for the game and the ck.

Feel free to use or change as you like, but please credit me.

Taco, it's up at the throat of the world, with Paarthurnax.

can you just add me for easier conversation, if you don't mind, please?

dragon breath leaves burning effect on surfaces it fires for short perioud of time, but it doesn't leave same effect as of flame wall. As of sound of flamethrower, that's nice. I was talking about some kind of chant\words by "voice", yes.

I don't use a lot of mods, and unfortunatelly nexus doesn't work for me anymore...

It does the range and the high damage, burns for a little longer, but I don't believe it incorporates the flame wall effect, where it sticks to all other surfaces. It does sound like the dragon's fire attack, though, that haunting whistle that reminds me of a flamethrower. No roaring or words, though.

TES5edit is a very good, small tool to help you check and clean mods. It will also let you make small edits to mods, for example light vs heavy armor, weights, damage, etc. Can be found, free, on nexus. You may see SSEedit (for Skyrim SE, not regular Skyrim) or Xedit. It's basically because it's all the same program, used for all the Skyrims and Oblivion.

If you use LOOT to sort your mod order, to avoid conflicts, you can use Wrye Bash to make a Bashed Patch, which (among other things) makes leveled lists play nicely together, and xedit to clear conflicts between mods.

What is TES5edit though?

By the way, one of my friend tried to make dragon's breath ("dragon voice fire attack" - is this how it's actually called?) spell, but could not make it be concentration spell unfortunatelly. All he managed to do was to make a spell that makes annoying dragon's voice, takes time to charge, and shoot flame for mere 2-3 seconds and then goes off...

At least it leave a hot sticky flames on ground like some napalm based flamethrower, and did insane high damage and really long range. So your staff does exactly the same thing, except without annoying dragon's voice soundclip and you can fire it as much as you want to?

Perhaps one day, if my schedule improves, but Skyrim Special Edition seems to be the thing now.

I went looking for my notes and it looks like I took the magic effect for dragon voice fire attack and duplicated it, changed it to be a concentration spell that I could use for staff, so it should look, sound, and hit the same. It does 100 damage per sec, so they will melt, like you would expect from a dragon.

Please run TES5edit, though, if you use this. This was a very early mod for me, before I knew much about that. I haven't had any feedback about dirty edits or anything, but it never hurts to give it a cleaning, with the most up to date TES5edit, just to be sure.

Like I said, the one I linked never was actually made. They just made screenshot but not mod, idk for what reason... Any chance you return to Skyrim modding, though?

It's been so long since I've even had Skyrim installed, I can't remember how it was actually set up in CK. I know it burns for a slightly longer time, and that it burns for more damage per second than flames. When in doubt, you may be better off opting to use the one you linked.
