The torque sensor adds 1 to the measurements, without adding real resistance. Let's check the results of the force conversion.

Let's calculate the ratio 1:1, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor.
1.95-1=0.95 We got a gearbox efficiency of 95%

Let's calculate the ratio 3:1, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. And divide by the gearbox ratio.
3.85-1=2.85 2.85/3=0.95 We got a gearbox efficiency of 95%

Let's calculate the ratio 1:3, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. And multiply by the gearbox ratio.
1.317-1=0.317 0.317*3=0.951 We got a gearbox efficiency of 95%

The no-load gearbox converts power as expected.

Let's calculate the ratio 1:1, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. Subtract torque 1 of the small generator
2.9-1=1.9 1.9-1=0.9 We got a gearbox efficiency of 90%

Let's calculate the ratio 3:1, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. Divide by gearbox ratio. Subtract torque 1 of the small generator
6.7-1=5.7 5.7/3=1.9 1.9-1=0.9 We got a gearbox efficiency of 90%

Let's calculate the ratio 1:3, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. Multiply by the gearbox ratio. Subtract torque 1 of the small generator
1.633-1=0.633 0.633*3=1.899 1.9-1=0.9 We got a gearbox efficiency of 90%

All right

The final speed of the generator is approximately the same at different gearbox ratios. 3:1 efficiency even slightly higher than 1:1. Let's count.

RPS of the motor at a ratio of 1:1 8.36 divided by a gearbox ratio of 3:1
8.36/3=2.78
A little less than it turned out during testing

Torque at a ratio of 1:1 32.45, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. And multiplied by a gearbox ratio of 3:1
32.45-1=31.45 31.45*3=94.35
Resistance is greater than it turned out during testing

And although the efficiency of the gearbox turned out to be more than 100%, the difference is subtle, but it is a bug and needs to be corrected.

The final speed of the generator is very different for different gear ratios of the gearbox. Efficiency 3: 1 is several times lower than 1: 1. Let's count.

RPS of the motor at a ratio of 1:1 17.33 divided by a gearbox ratio of 3:1
17.33/3=5.78
The final speed should be more than double.

Torque at a ratio of 1:1 40.45, subtract 1 unit added by the torque sensor. And multiplied by a gearbox ratio of 3:1
40.45-1=39.45 39.45*3=118.35
The load should be more than the testing showed.

The results turned out to be strange, something is definitely missing here. Perhaps the torque that I still can't catch somehow affects.

when you're comparing "Motor >> Drive" to "Motor << Drive" is the bigger number better or worse, which one generates more speed and which one generates more power, im looking for less fuel consumption

Could you do specs on modular engines too?

May be an intended feature instead of a bug, so you have to go down into the engine and repair whats broken...???

I've been using a line of 20 parallel 5x5 gearboxes and the clutch is increased by a throttle lever at 1% sensitivity and still they break (sometimes). it would be nice if gearboxes had a logic "broken" output
ATOM  [Autor] 18. März 2021 um 16:03
I don't know how to check it yet. I can advise you to release the clutch smoothly. If this is not enough, use a larger gearbox.
Anti-Personic Bullet 18. März 2021 um 15:57
Could you look into the gearbox stress mechanic? I can't figure out why they break sometimes and not others. I suspect its bugged since I can make a line of identical gearboxes with identical load and one of them will break and none of the others or vice versa
