Preface

This Guide is aimed at players who already know how to obtain Nuclear Keycards, have completed Enclave questline and know how to launch a nuke. If you need to learn how to complete a Silo Site fast you should just put that query in Youtube or Google. It will tell you all the information you need to know.

There are 3 Nuke Silos in the game and if one is on cooldown you need to go to the other one, obviously. Sometimes a server will have all of them on cooldown so you need to join another one.

This Guide is about what comes after the initial steps, it will touch on how to successfully use a nuke after you've gone through the process of launch initiation. I.e. how to successfully hit and destroy your target. In this case an enemy camp.

Because, let's face it, why would you want to waste a perfectly good Nuke on Earlie or SBQ?

For the Nuke codes you can refer to this fan tool, so that you do not have to seek them out

Death From Above: Mass Nuking

There are several ways you can go about Nuking Enemy Camps before they disconnect to avoid their fate.

1. Mass Nuking

To maximize your chances of hitting the enemy you should try and target several Enemy Bases at once. The more the merrier. It will often be two camps together, sometimes three will be in blast range and very very rarely there will be more.

duos

But you are looking for trios, like this

alas this is no blast zone

So you need to find something like this then

Notice how one enemy base is gone but two remain right until they are nuked, that is because you are more likely to hit something when there are more targets in the attack radius. It is statistically more probable.

Results:

Nuking The Sidelines
The Idea is to target Enemy Settlements that are located on the borders of the map. It is more likely that those Enemies do not expect to be nuked as they think nobody is going to come after their base that is hidden from view. And they often don't bother checking when the countdown timer starts. It helps even more if there is already a blast zone from SBQ or Earlie so that they can mistake it for a new zone. Even more so if you fast travel to the SBQ bunker and stand there. More players will fast travel to you. I tested it and it works every time. Entire server will mistakenly arrive to SBQ event without the event as nobody checks for the event marker.

Ops Way

Another good way to catch an enemy off guard is to see if they are doing a Daily Ops, maybe even sneak a peek inside to see whether they just started and then proceed with the nuke silo nuke launch initiation and nuking. Hopefully, you are efficient with that and will be able to nuke them within the next 8 minutes. However, you may be lucky and they make take up longer depending on their skill and group size.

Since the enemy will be preoccupied with combat they might not notice the nuke coming to base.

The key with any successful nuke is to make sure there is something that can distract the enemy like a previously left blast zone on the map, you can even fast travel to it and make other players appear there too. Because if you fast travel to SBQ blast zone people sometimes will wrongfully assume there is a new event coming, when in fact the nuke is landing on the enemy base.

Thank you for reading, vault dwellers!

thanks, yeah they would serve as nice distractions. Also, could be fun nuking an event area while the event is going and everyone is there. But you need to have perfect timing and be lucky.

nice guide, one thing i would add is aligning yourself with random event markers (specifically combat ones) and monongah mine/prime fissure site whenever possible
