Basics In Phasmophobia V2 - PC GUIDE!

This is my basics in Phasmophobia tutorial number 2. As promised if I got a lot of awards for the first guide I would make another. So here we go.

What's the Objective?

The objective in Phasmophobia is not to exterminate the ghost, which means that you're not a ghost hunter. Basically you're the guy before the ghost hunter, your job is to find out what type of ghost, thats haunting the location. Inside the truck you will find the WHITEBOARD, the whiteboard gives a lot of useful information, but the thing you're currently looking for are the "Objectives". There is one main Objective, which will always be the same, "Discover what type of ghost we are dealing with".

The other three Objectives can be anything such as, ´Take a photo of the ghost´, ´Have one of the members experience a ghost event´. For each objective you will earn money from, so when you've found out, what type of ghost, the next thing to do is complete the other objectives.










Some Objectives does require things that you buy from the shop, for example ´Detect a room below 10 degrees Celcius / 50 degrees Fahrenite´, which requires the "Thermometer". The shop is found when you still are in the lobby, on the whiteboard.

What does the ghost do?

It's hard to say, what the ghost does, because every ghost type acts differently. So let's go over the general things all the ghosts does.

Favorite room
Every ghost has its favorite room, which sometimes are hard to locate, but good thing that you brougt all of your fancy equipment, this will make it easier to locate the ghosts room.

Ghost Events
Even though getting hunted by a ghost sometimes can be very frightening it doesn't count as a ghost event. A ghost event is when the ghost appears, like it becomes visual. Sometimes it just stands like a creep, and other times it's running around the room. Some ghosts even sings! Which is pretty creepy.

Interacting with objects
All ghosts have the ability to throw objects around. The ghost can for example throw the journal if you've placed it on the floor. All ghosts can also turn on the sink and make dirty water.

Power Shortage
Ghosts in phasmophobia have been known for cutting off the power. Be aware, that it could've been, because someone forgot to turn off the lights. See when too many lights are on at the same time, the power turns off, and now you have to go to the power generator and turn it back on. The ghost can also turn on the lights again if they're out.

Prevented from hunting
Well it's not really the ghost that prevents itself from hunting, but every ghost can be stopped from hunting, if someone has put a crucifix down within 3 - 5 meters of the ghost's hunting ground. Be aware that only ´Banshee's´ will be affected within the five meter range.

And of course we can't forget that there is one thing, that is sure every ghost does, HUNTING.

Hunting? RUN!!

What do I do?
If the ghost is hunting, you have 3 options.

Option 1. Hiding
Hiding is probably the best form of not dying, when the ghost is hunting. You can hide inside of closets, and other rooms. Just make sure that you're not hiding in the ghost's favorite room, or else your chances of surviving are pretty bad.

Option 2. Running
Running is a risky strategy, and could end up with you dying. You're only able to out-run some of the ghosts, since some of the ghost becomes significantly faster when hunting. Out-running the ghost is WAY EASIER on large maps than smaller maps, because there is so much more room for you to run. The only reason to try to run from the ghost is if it's already comming for you, then my only advice for you is to run, fast.

Option 3. Just accept your fate
Well this option is for the ones, who really are too scared to play the game. Just close your eyes and wait for you to die.

Equipment

What does the equipment do?
All of the equipment has different purposes to make your game easier, so here is a list of what each piece of equipment does.

Spirit Box - Talk to the ghost [Counts as evidence]
EMF Reader - Read ghost activity level [Counts as evidence, only if Level 5]
Ghost Writing Book - Ghost can write in the book [Counts as evidence, also photo evidence]
Thermometer - Reads the temperature of the room you're in [Counts as Objective]
Video camera - Can catch Ghost Orbs on van monitor [Counts as evidence]
UV Flashlight - Shine on surfaces to see if there are handprints [Counts as evidence, also photo evidence]
Photo Camera - Take photos of things, that counts as photo evidence
Flashligt & Strong Flashlight - Shines light, so you can see
Candle - Shines light so you can see, you don't lose as much sanity if you use the Candle
Crucifix - Can make the ghost stop from hunting [Counts as Objective]
Glow stick - Helps like a candle, and also helps with detecting fingerprints
Head Mounted Camera - Camera that's on your head, so others can see if you go on a solo mission.
Infared Light Sensor - Shines light if anything walks by
Lighter - Can light Candles, and Smudge sticks
Motion Sensor - Detects when something moves by [Counts as Objective]
Parabolic Microphone - Helps tracking ghosts movement
Salt - Can be placed on the floor, and footstep will appear if the ghost walks in it [Counts as Objective]
Sanity Pills - Makes your sanity increase
Smudge sticks - It will make the ghost go away for some time if used correctly [Counts as Objective]
Sound Sensor - Detects sound in a certain area, which can be seen in the truck
Tripod - Video Cameras can be placed on Tripods and you can get a better angle when looking for Ghost Orbs
Ouija Board - You can ask the ghost questions, if sanity doesn't decrease it's probably a demon

So these are the default keybindings, because I don't know if you've changed yours, but here it is DEFAULT KEYBINDINGS!

MB1 - Open doors, Use fx. turning on spirit box on the ground, Rotate
MB2 - Use fx. Turning on lights, flashligt and Taking pictures
E - Pick up
F - Place
J - Journal
T - Turn on flashlight (If it's not in your hand)

3 - Item #3
Scroll wheel - Scroll through your items
Q - Scroll through your items
V - Local Chat
B - Radio (Spirit box and Ouija board)
W - Walk forward
A - Walk Left
S - Walk Backwards
D - Walk Right

Side Objectives!

Objectives are fun! Here's a list of all Side Objectives and how to complete them. And yes if you're wondering I just copied this from my other guide, I'm lazy.

The Objectives
1. Bone Evidence: Take a photo of the bone and then collect it by pressing "E". You don't need to take a photo of the bone.
2. Footprints: Take photos of salt that the ghost has walked in.
3. Ouijaboard: Take a photo of the Ouija board.
4. Voodo dolls: Take a photo of the Voodo dolls. The Voodo dolls only spawn on certain maps fx. "Grafton Farmhouse," or "Bleasdale Farmhouse".
5. Dirty water: Take a photo of the dirty water in a sink. To get dirty water you must anger the ghost fx. Calling its name, Turning on lights or Throwing objects (Props not equipment).
6. Dead Body: Take a photo of a dead body. If your fellow investigator dies to the ghost go take a picture and make a little bit more cash.
7. Ghostwriting: Take a photo of the Journal if the ghost has written in it.
8. Paranormal activity with EMF: Make the ghost interact with your EMF Reader. You should probably be near the ghosts room to have a higher chance of paranormal activity.
9. Capture a photo of the ghost: Take a photo of the ghost, either when it's hunting or if a ghost event is happening.
10. Have a member witness a ghost event: A ghost event and the ghost hunting are to different things and will not count. A ghost event is fx. The ghost walking towards you, but it will not kill you.
11. Prevent the ghost from hunting with a crucifix: A lot of people thinks that you just need to have the crucifix in your hand, but you actually need to put it on the ground. If you have two crucifixes you should put them about 3 meters apart. Execpt when it's a banshee you can put them 5 meters apart.

The Journal!

The Journal has a lot of different things and a lot of information, here's the basics!

Ghost Information
In the Journal there is information for every single ghost fx. how they behave, speed and etc. The Journal also tells what kind of evidence each ghosts has to identify the ghost. Some information about ghosts can make you guess the ghost without having the evidence, cool right?

Photos
If you take a picture of something it ends up in your Journal. You can see if you've taken pictures of evidence or objectives. This is very helpful, so that you don't need to take another picture!

Ghost Identification
You will be able to identify the ghost when putting all your evidence in your Journal. If you've put 1 - 2 pieces of evidence the Journal will narrow it down to only a handful of the ghosts, but if you've got all three, the Journal will identify the ghost, and you've completed the first Objective.

Insurance

Why didn't I get my money back?
When you die you sometimes get money back, is that a coincidence? No. See when you're playing the difficulties, Amateur and Intermediate, you will get Insurance. When you're playing professional you don't get anything, but the objective money, and you still only get about half of that.

How much Insurance do I get?
If you're playing Amateur you're getting 50% of all money you spent on equipment back.
But if you're playing Intermediate you only get 25% of the money you spent back.
