Description
This Hell's Kitchen business Italian Grocery/Deli closed in 2012 after 119 years of business. But it can live on in your city.

About Manganaro's Grosseria Italiana

Asset is inspired by Manganaro's Grosseria Italiana in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan NYC. The business opened in 1893 and closed in 2012. A spin-off named Manganaro's Hero Boy is still open today. The font on the signage is quite impressive and drew me to include this item in the Little Italy collection.

About the Building
The building is not faithful to the real-life building for this asset. My Little Italy collection is intended to be 2-4 story buildings rather than Manhattan-esque buildings so I used one of the models I created custom for the collection. I think the intricate brick work on the front facade of this asset will stand out in your city.

Background on Little Italy collection

This Italian Deli is one of the first wave from my Little Italy collection I plan to publish in the coming months where I take independent Italian American businesses with appealing vintage signage that have endured for decades in places like NYC, Philly, Detroit, St Louis, SF, etc.. Expect to see pasta shops, cheese shops, cafes, bakeries, butchers and much more.

@theb2landlord - thanks for the tip. There is a Ginos Focacceria in Bensonhurst that is in my queue. It has bold signage which is part of the fun of picking which italian businesses to replicate.

Ever thought of re-doing Gino's in Bay Ridge or even Villabate Alba in Bensonhurst? 2 of Brooklyn's most famous Italian spots. Thanks for your works in keeping Italian heritage noticed in CS

Always giggle when I see this shop in media. Grosería is Spanish for "rudeness" :)
