Single Player Mission for the F/A-26B

This is a loose re-creation of the infamous RAF long range, night bombing mission by a Vulcan on the occupied Port Stanley Airfield in 1982 known as operation Black Buck One.

The skills you will need to complete the mission are;

Operating an F/A-26B (VTOL VR doesn't have an Avro Vulcan :(....)
Night time operations
Aircraft Carrier take off and landing (Aircraft Carrier instead of Ascension Island)
Air to air re-fuelling
Unguided bombing

There is very little enemy air defence threat (providing you follow the mission objectives) which is true to the actual mission and the mission involves some long(ish) transits between way points to really capture the long range nature of the mission. There is though some custom audio messages during each mission phase to keep you occupied!

Will you achieve.... 'Superfuse'?

This version is a simulation of the actual mission, I will be creating some further fictitious Black Buck missions inspired by the original which will involve some extra enemy engagement including air to air and multiple allied aircraft on a coordinated strike.

Unfortunately I don't have access to edit this mission anymore, I had to re-install VTOL VR and lost access to the associated mission editor files. So if you find any bugs I won't be able to fix, however if you still report them here and there are enough, I will re-make from scratch. I am going to be working on a Falklands '82 campaign, so keep an eye out on my profile.

Awesome, Dredd! I'll be sure to try them out. I'm addicted to this game and have flown over 100 hours cause it's amazing. Looking forward to trying some new missions! And, seriously, great job on the last one. I know it's not easy making them and everyone is a critic, but thank you for supplying entertainment for all of us!

Thanks The Cowman for trying the mission and your comments. I deliberately made this mission the way it runs to be as true to the actual mission as possible. (Long flight over water, armed only with bombs, objective was to get one bomb on the runway) my intention is to develop some more fictional Black Buck missions which will have additional elements

This mission was OK. A lot of time flying over water, so it was kind of slow. I liked blowing up the base, but you made it a minimum of 1 think blown up. You should make it all of them to have the mission be a little more challenging. Also, it was cool that you had enemy fighters arrive but I wasn't equipped with Air-to-Air so I had to hightail it out of there. Would be cool if I could land on a carrier, re-arm and then go back and kill them. Overall it was OK. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.

I just watched a documentary about this a few days ago! What are the chances?? Awesome, I can't wait to try this later... Hopefully it doesn't simulate the whole 12000 km 😀

This is my first attempt at creating a mission, I am working on upgrading the sound files so watch out for some future upgrades. Any constructive feedback welcome.
