How to Achieve Unlimited Power (Palpatine Guide)

This guide will show you how to play as Emperor Palpatine, including play style and the best star cards to use for him

Introduction

Palpatine is a character that is pretty different from other heroes, he has no blocking abilities like the other sith or jedi, and no longer range weapons like blasters to use. In order to achieve unlimited power you will need to follow these steps.

Star Card 1

The first card I recommend using is lightning reach, each level of the card increases your lightning attacks range by about a meter, up to 18.2 meters from the base 14 meters, the increase may not seem that significant, but with the play style that should be used for Palpatine it makes a big difference in your attacks effectiveness.

Star Card 2

The second star card i recommend is surge of lightning, the chain lightning ability will be the main Palpatine ability you will be using, the ability to chain lighting the most amount of enemies possible makes it much easier to clear out as many enemies as possible in hallways, even if the attack does not kill all the enemies, they will have low enough health to take out in rapid succession with Palpatines' base lightning attack, combined with the increased range you gained from lightning reach.

If you're playing HvV this card can be swapped out for Show No Mercy.

Star Card 3

The third and final star card I recommend you use is in full control, if you're going to be using Palpatine's lightning attack a lot you won't want to be caught without stamina a lot of the time, the in full control card reduces the stamina used by up to 16% from the base 10%, this card is really useful when using both of Palpatine's hands to kill those baddies. Rarely when using this card at its max state have I ran out of stamina while playing Palpatine, and it is vital in your quest to achieve unlimited power.

Play Style

The hardest part of using Palpatine is figuring out how to play him and use him effectively, the key to playing as the Senate is to never be stationary. You want to always be running, jumping, or dodging, always keep your thumb on the dodge key rather than the jump key, when attacking an enemy with the base two handed lightning attack, dodge left and right, then jump, don't jump too high, you want to hold down space for a good half a second, as to not jump too high, and slowly fall down to the ground. Since Palps has no blocking ability always being able be moving is very important. If you're not jumping, you're dodging, if you're stationary, besides when using an ability, you've ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and will not achieve unlimited power, and you will in fact, be too weak. In retreat, if needed, dodge back twice, then jump as high as you can, and use your lightning attack to deter any enemies and to get as far away as possible from any enemy that would for some reason want to kill the senate.

Abilities

The ability you will be using the most is chain lightning, it is the most effective at damaging and killing enemies at range for Palps, it is effective at damaging heroes, and wiping out the most enemies possible in a small amount of time.

Dark Aura is pretty useless, unless you're in a very crowded small area, if you're going to use this ability, activate it before you go into the area you know enemies are, as this ability takes longer to activate and will leave you the most vulnerable to enemy attacks. This ability also comes in handy in areas of desperation, if you're suddenly surrounded by enemies, and retreat is not possible, use this ability, it will save you a few times, but will not be your main ability.

The final ability the Senate has is his electrocute, this ability is the most useful at dealing damage to heroes, as it temporarily stuns them, allowing you and to deal more damage after with your base two handed lightning attack. This ability used in conjunction with chain lightning is the most effective way of dealing with any heroes you may face, as well as large groups of troopers. This ability also comes handy when there's enemies in front of you and you're low on stamina, stunning the enemies temporarily, allowing your stamina to rebuild and giving you the stamina to kill them.

Overall, remember to keep moving as Palps, if you're not moving, jumping, or dodging, you're not doing it right. Use your chain lightning to kill the most enemies at once as possible, dark aura if you're surrounded, and electrocute to deal with heroes, as well as if you need to delay enemies in order to rebuild your stamina. With these tips, I assure you will achieve unlimited power as the Senate.

Great tips man! Also the 180 trick you mentioned, R4MS4Y13, I've never thought about utilizing palpatine like that, but will now for sure ;)

Another tip is that you can dodge right through enemies rushing toward you. Kinda hard to explain but if a hero with a lightsaber is running straight for you, all you have to do is dodge straight into them when they get close enough and palp will go right through them (if you quickly do a 180 and use the electrocute ability it can really do some damage)
