Hard Achievements The Easy Way

Too lazy to do the achievements the easy way? You've come to the right place! With this guide you will complete the achievements in just a few minutes!

Achievements in this guide: Rare Specimen, The Rarest Specimen, Pepperoni Precipitation, Prolific Popper, Black Mesa Decathlon Winner, Post-Mortem Interval, Laser Immunization, The Plan, Unquestionably Ethical, Late for Work, Specimen GG

Paste into the console these lines:
*sv_cheats must be 0 at the time of the achievements (but can be 1 before)*

bind "X" "give item_healthkit;give item_battery;givecurrentammo;give weapon_satchel"

bind "KP_DOWNARROW" "give item_suit;give item_longjump;give weapon_gluon;give weapon_glock"

• Pressing keypad 2 will give you weapons and your suit
  
• Pressing X will give you ammo and health
  
• You have to give yourself ammo before the weapon runs out

Rare Specimen

Send the Hidden Hat to Xen.
run commands

Complete the level with the hat and you will get the achievement

Tips:
If you get stuck after going through a portal try crouching or shooting the hat with your gluon gun

The Rarest Specimen

Carry the Hidden Hat to Endgame.

The boss fight should be easy with infinite ammo and health

Tips:

Pepperoni Precipitation

View the *other* secret ending.

Prolific Popper

Kill all Protozoans in the Borderworld.
Teleport to these maps in this order and kill every Protozoan to get the achievement.
With this command you can teleport a Protozoan to you by pressing "J"

Post-Mortem Interval

Find each member of the missing research teams.

There are 7 bodies in Gonarch's Lair you need to find and press "E" on:
*You can track your progress under esc > achievements*

1. After crossing the ravine you will get to a small cave with a scanner and a bullsquid. To the left are some orange crystals:

5. In the small opening which gets uncovered by the Goarch's approaching:

7. In the last arena fly up onto the platforms on the left using "V". He is impaled on the thorns:
   

Black Mesa Decathlon Winner

Escape the Gargantua’s Lair without taking any damage from Gargantuas.

When you load in turn around and run downstream, after the map change turn around again and run back upstream

Now just complete the level

If you get stuck pathfinding try to follow the lights, they will guide you, or look for jump pads.
After you have passed a total of 12 Gargantuas and jumped across to the waterfalls you'll get the achievement
*Exploding Houndeyes will still explode! Be careful*

Laser Immunization

Complete Interloper without taking any laser damage.
It's pretty easy to get this:

Now Just use V to skip the first maps of Interloper as shown below. After that complete the last level semi-normaly:
*Be careful not to fly through the Lasers!*

Troubleshooting below

Map-ends:
Map 1:

• Fly towards the black pillar

Map 2:

• Into the small cave

Map 3:

• Into the middle cave

Map 4:

• In the small vent

Map 5:

• Fly into the circular room and walk into the left room

Map 6:

• Complete the level as you would in a normal playthrough until you come to this part:
  
• Now fly up the inside of the vent:
  
• Destroy all 3 of these on all 3 levels:
  
• Jump down the vent and complete the last part as intended. After flying up the large hole with the many jump pads you will get the achievement.

Troubleshooting:
If you have problems getting the achievement try this:

• Don't save/load. If you hit a laser quit the game and click resume
  
• Play the Release version 1.0 properties->beta->1.0
  
• Reinstall the game
  
• use the command "achievement_reset bms_laser_immunization" *Warning: this will reset you achievement progress*
  
• If that doesn't work try it without using cheats (only use "map bm_c4a3b")

The Plan & Unquestionably Ethical

Run commands

Fly to the control room over the arena using noclip, don't forget to take the canister with you. Now place it into the socket (Don't activate it yet!) and save, you can load the save for the other achievement.

The Plan
Use Cyanogen to kill Gonarch.
Activate the gas and complete the level by jumping over the platforms.

Unquestionably Ethical
Don't use the Cyanogen and let the Gonarch live.
Don't activate the gas and complete the level by jumping over the platforms.

Late for Work & Specimen GG

Late for Work
Defeat the Nihilanth in under 4 minutes.


Specimen GG
Take out all three Healing Crystals in Nihilanth's Chamber at the same time.


Start Chapter 18 from the main menu.
After you fall down, the first thing to do is place one satchel charge each on the three round hatches.

Start the fight as usual by shooting at the three blue crystals, using the Gluon Gun, until they explode. Don't forget to fill up your ammo - use your key bind to fill up the ammo before it runs out!

Once the yellow crystals come out, as seen by the beams, detonate the satchels. At this point you should get the achievement Specimen GG.

If there still are some crystals left, you can now either restart to get Specimen GG or you can proceed by blowing up the leftover crystals using your rockets.

Now just go back to shooting at the Nihilanth with your Gluon Gun - again, don't forget to fill up your ammo using said key bind - once he opens up his head just wait until he turns around, you should have more than enough time left. As his final head crystal explodes, Late for work should pop up.

[The Cardinal]

Laser Immunization - it seems that just flying to the map loading point and destroying those red things to clear the jumpad isn't enough to unlock this achievement. You also need to activate each of the laser sequences(and complete it normaly\semi-normaly). Looks like the developers moved the progress tracking checkpoints to the end of each laser sequence

Black Mesa doesn't give achievements at all if you activate "sv_cheats 1" and quickly turn it off, all games do that.
