a guide on how to make YOUR OWN hot air balloons go mach 5 like on groundpound69's videos

intro

have you ever wanted to fly in a hot air balloon, but going as fast as an sr-71 while escorting a 747 in a diamond formation?

well, this guide is for you!

BTW THIS IS MY FIRST GUIDE SO IT WILL BE PRETTY BAD

the things you will need

the things you will need from this guide are:

-the cameron hot air balloon (https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/2992/fsx-cameron-hot-air-balloon/)
-a text editor like notepad++
-a super-fast plane (i'll be using the f-18 for this one)

copying the files

first, we need to copy some files, specifically the .air files of the designated aircraft (in this case the f-18.) to do that, we:

1. go to the F-18's folder ([insert fsx directory here]\SimObjects\Airplanes\FA-18)
the folder should look like this: [/previewimg] 2. right click and copy the FA-18.air file [previewimg=21729985;sizeOriginal,floatLeft;really epic.PNG][/previewimg] 3. go to the hot air balloon's folder ([insert fsx directory here]\Simobjects\Airplanes\Hot Air Balloon) the folder should look like this: [previewimg=21730027;sizeOriginal,floatLeft;hab.PNG][/previewimg] 4. paste the file we just copied earlier (FA-18.air) and rename it to hab.air [b]REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL HAB.AIR FILE!!!!!![/b
2. right click and copy the FA-18.air file
3. go to the hot air balloon's folder ([insert fsx directory here]\Simobjects\Airplanes\Hot Air Balloon)
the folder should look like this:
4. paste the file we just copied earlier (FA-18.air) and rename it to hab.air

REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR ORIGINAL HAB.AIR FILE!!!!!!

modifying aircraft.cfg

now that we have copied the files, let's modify the hot air balloon's aircraft.cfg to make it even more like an f-18.

first, we right click the aircraft.cfg of the f-18 and right-click "Edit with Notepad++"

second, we select and copy a big chunk of the f-18's aircraft.cfg. the specific chunk is the part after the [CameraDefinition.003] section, which starts with [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE], basically line 448 and below.

before the third step, REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR AIRCRAFT.CFG!!!!!!!

then, edit the hot air baloon's aircraft.cfg file with notepad++.

after doing that, delete everything beyond line 39.

and finally, paste the text we just copied to line 40.

conclusion

now that we've finished, we can go and test this out in fsx!

i managed to do a barrel roll and a full loop with those modifications, just fyi.
