What am I using?
My Windows 10 version:
2009 (20H2)

My controller:
Xbox one Wireless Controller with wireless adapter
Guide start here
1. Download new version (4.x or later) of Xbox 360 controller emulator
Go to https://www.x360ce.com/ and download version 4.17.15.0 or later.

2. Unlike the other old versions of x360ce which require to place it into game folder.
The new version now work as a portable app and you can put it anywhere,
you are now required to launch this app everytime you play Dead Rising 2.

3. Power on Xbox One controller.

4. Run the app as administrator.

5. Install ViGEmBus Virtual Gamepad Emulation Driver by clicking Issues tab.

6. The app should be freeze after you hear "Windows Connect Device Sound"
Force close the app and launch again.

7. In "Controller 1" tab, click "Auto Map" if it wasn't checked, or you can manually assign which controller to be Controller 1 by clicking "+Add"

8. Let the app running in background, you can minimize it into System tray.

9. Launch Dead Rising 2.

10. In game Options > PC Settings > Controller > "Enable"

11. Enjoy!!
Run the app first BEFORE launch the game
(Recommend)

I recommend you always do this
otherwise you may in facing the situation below.

Run the app AFTER you launch the game.

You may need to reclick "Auto Map" or "+Add" in x360ce.

You have to re-Enable controller in-game Options.
Fix Camera Reset on gamepad (R3 / Right-stick-click)
This issue had been fixed in Dead Rising 2: Off the record,
while Dead Rising 2 remain unsolved yet.

This can be solve by edit the gamepad-mapping file in game folder.

--------------------------------------

1. Go to your game folder by right click on Dead Rising 2 in Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > Browse

or default path

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead Rising 2"

2. Inside folder " \data\controls" you can locate "padmap.txt"
make a backup copy and rename it whatever you want like "padmap.txt.BAK" or "padmapBAK.txt"

3. Open "padmap.txt"
Press "Ctrl + F" in Notepad and find "reset" without quotation mark.

Original line:
COMMAND_USER_CAM_RESET( BUTTON_R3, PRESSED, BUTTON_L2, HELD, AND)

Replace to and save file:
COMMAND_USER_CAM_RESET( BUTTON_R3, PRESSED, NONE, NONE, NONE)

** It should have long-space-length between button commands, I cannot show up in Steam guide, 1 space or many space between them and it works the same way.
--------------------------------------

P.S. If you think you were mess up any file without a backup, you can always reset game files by right click on Dead Rising 2 in Steam Library > Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files

This is the best guide so far that has worked for my ps4 controller. Use DS4Windows in step 3 then when use automap. Thank you so much
