Explore Everything
When progressing through the game, you will find that there will be multiple paths and entrances in maps across all worlds. While it may seem obvious, it is important to explore the entire map for any data that may be hidden in small areas. Data can be placed in your path as you progress through the story line, or hidden in a room at the other end of the map. A helpful walk through tip is to go very slow when going through the map, taking your time to explore the entire area and make sure that you have found every room

Every once and a while you will run into a blocked path that you cannot access until further in the game progression, or further into the map to unlock a shortcut, when meeting a blocked path, don't overthink a way in. Focus on the rest of the map, and eventually you'll have access to the whole map.

When going to a planet for the first time, it is best to go section by section. Make sure you're confident you have explored everything in the area before moving on
Having to go back
During your game play you will find data that you cannot access because you have not progressed far enough into the game. If you think this is the reason you can't find your way up, it's better to leave it be and return when you've acquired the skill to obtain it. During my game play, I had to return to planets multiple times to obtain a chest/echo/data which is totally normal. A helpful walk through tip is to be patient and go back to planets after progressing further in the game.

Fair warning though. Some maps can take time to get from point A to point B, and can be exhausting to travel just to obtain the last piece of data. So while there are some items you simply cannot obtain at your point in the game, make sure that you have found every item you believe you can obtain, and reveal as much of the map as possible before leaving the planet
It's the small things
A very important part of finding Data in Fallen Order is looking everywhere and in every corner. When you are close to a data point, BD-1 will either make a noise, or jump from your back and run to the location. However, there are times when you need to get very close to an object for BD-1 to respond. When going into a new room or area, explore every crack, crevice and corner to clear the room of any potential Data before moving on. This was a mistake I made in my first run through of the maps and had to return on several occasions to obtain something that I ran past the first time.
Tactical Guide
While this may seem obvious, scan all new enemy types that come across your path, if it's a bug or an imperial soldier. A helpful tip that is important with scanning new enemies is clearing out the area. BD-1 will not attempt to scan a new soldier or creature when there is something else attacking you, and while a new soldier might catch your eye, you might forget to scan it while there is stormtroopers shooting at you.

Another small tip is that there will be some characters/enemies that will automatically be added to your tactical guide when you come across them, and does not require a scan to be added. While this sounds a little confusing, be assured you'll have a complete tactical guide as long as you scan what you can.
Hidden Data
A struggle that you will quickly come upon is that data set progression is not shown on your map like chests and secrets are, and you can determine if you have found all echos by checking if the map completion has a check next to it. When it comes to data sets, there is no indication of completion in sections of the map. Meaning, If you have one remaining data set for a planet, it could be anywhere on the planet, and can be extremely time consuming and exhausting to search the whole planet for a single piece of data.

A helpful tip is that data sets tend to be grouped in close sections. For example, if you are missing a data piece of flora and fauna, it likely won't be in an imperial base, better to go outside and find it there.

"data disk" achievement is for encrypted logs (scans where Eno Cordova talks), not all databank entries.
