TF2 Mods that work on Valve servers w/ download links

This guide is a collection of mods that the look of your game but still works on sv_pure 1 servers (valve servers)

This mod replaces TF2's boring muzzle flash with a cartoonish flash, similar to the one of Team fortress classic's trailer.

Most Animation overhauls do NOT work on valve servers but Paysus' ones do.

Custom huds Change the look of how your user interface looks. TF2's hud is very basic boring and takes up a lot off space in game.
You may also experience better frame rates with some HUDs.

This mod replaces smoke particles and explotion particles with other more clear particles.
You often see many pro/comp players have this installed to clear up their screen in a fire fight.

Configs are used to tweak the games performace to your desire but also change how the game looks.

No this is technically not a mod but does change how the game looks and works on valve servers.
It gives better frame rates by removing the exagerated shine off weapons and characters, but even if you have a decent computer I use it because I like the more TF classic vibe it gives.

To have this look simply write 'mat_phong 0' in your config.

EDITORS NOTE: If you have downloaded a FPS config you may already have this installed.

Nothing much to explain here, change hit and kill sounds to anything.
There is no right and wrong answer of what to download here so I would suggest to go to Gamebanana and browse the abundance of wacky sounds.

As simple as it sounds, removes all cosmetics and hats and works on valve servers.

Honestly I would only recommend if you are that desperate for frames or want a oldschool TF2 look.

EDITORS NOTE: This mod is a bit outdated and wont remove some of the newer 2020 cosmetics at the time of posting.

This mod adds missing killfeed items and make the some weapons in the killfeed easier to "read."

I’m using a mod that brings back all of the old viewmodels from 2007, and everytime I play on valve servers, they never render. Am I forgetting to do something or is it because this definitely doesn’t work on valve servers?
