BNSF ES44AC No. 6111 (25th Anniversary Unit)

Leírás
(Requested by Pre JR).

(The black wagon with paintings that you see in the preview screenshots is not currently available. It is a prototype for a small project I'm doing for my friend, Stella, who is an artist, as well as a girl named Stella).

BNSF 6111 was built by G.E. in September 2006, as part of that railroad’s order for 714 ES44AC’s. The fleet is numbered from 5718 to 5837 and 5844 to 6438.

Our subject - 6111 - would run in service as another run of the mill diesel locomotive until 2020. This is when she was sent to Mid-America Car in Kansas City, Missouri for a special repaint. While larging retaining the H3 livery, this engine was decorated with logos of various fallen flag railroads to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the BNSF railway, which happened on September 22nd 1995 and was created through a merger of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe and Burlington Northern railroads.

The logos that adorn both sides of this locomotive are all those of predecessor railroads that were inherited by both ATSF and BN before their merger. The ‘roads in question are Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Burlington Northern, Santa Fe, Colorado & Southern, Spokane, Portland & Seattle and St. Louis - San Francisco, better known as Frisco.

Following her special repaint, ES44AC No. 6111 re-entered service on August 22nd, 2020. Today the engine is used in regular service on BNSF freight trains, as are hundreds of other diesel locomotives.
