Bloodfang Den

Description
This mod is a small Vampire themed home hidden in the back of a small cave. My goal was to try and keep it lore friendly and discreet, and not stray too far from how vampires are typically portrayed within Skyrim. It was designed with my own vampire character in mind, but hopefully someone else out there will find that it suits them too. This was my first ever mod, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Hopefully it won't be my last, and I've still got a couple of plans for this mod too. I hope you enjoy, and let me know if you have any problems or suggestions. I'll do my best to act quickly.

This house features:
- A coffin for one vampire
- Two beds for followers
- Several bookshelves
- Enchanting and alchemy crafting stations
- A moderate amount of storage
- Three display cases; one large and two small
- A weapon plaque
- Two mannequins
- A very simple exterior
- Plenty of darkness
- A thrall for feeding inside a 'secret' room
- A shrine to Molag Bal
- Smithing facilities with some weapon racks

My plans for the mod are:
- To iron out bugs and make other improvements
- To add an optional version with smithing facilities (DONE. Workshop version will always be the full version, but optional versions are available on the Nexus.)
- Make it so that the shrine actually does something (DONE)
- Think of a better name for the place (DONE)
- A Dawnguard only version, as requested. (DONE)
- To add a couple of optional npc's to occupy those beds

To use the mod, you'll need:
- A functioning PC
- A legit copy of Skyrim
- Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

Credits and Thank You's:
- Blary and Oaristys for their excellent modders resources.
- Petemichaelbabicki for inspiring me with the excellent Frostfang Coven mod.
- nozi87 for the great video.
- Jonas for testing.
- Dan for telling me how to do screenshots.
- Bethesda for the game.
- The many people doing creation kit tutorials for helping idiots like me.

Changes
V1.1
- Changed Navmesh to allow npc's to enter the house and move around the bookshelves
- Changed several doors to open to the inside, to reduce hall blocking

V1.2
- Made most of the lights brighter. On normal settings, it was a bit too dark.
- Changed the entrance significantly. A magic shrine opens the door instead of an obvious pullchain. Reduced the amount of lights and made it look a bit nicer. The pullchain on the inside has been replaced with a pullbar in the same place.
- The shrine in the hidden room works. Grants 'Blessing of Molag Bal' which applies a 10% damage increase to Destruction Spells for 12 hours. (I chose destruction because Vampiric Drain is classed as a destruction spell). Will continue to tweak this amount if it is deemed overpowered or underpowered.
- Changed the prisoner in the secret room from a generic Castle Thrall to a custom made npc called 'Captured Bandit'.
- Added a little more clutter and tweaked Navmesh to match.
- Removed the door to the kitchen, it blocked the way too much.
- Changed the name from "Hidden Vampire Den" or whatever it was to "Bloodfang Den".

V1.3
- Added a cavern with smithing facilities, storage and a couple of weapon racks for displaying your creations. Includes Smelter, Forge, Workbench, Sharpening Wheel and Tanning Rack, with storage for Ores, Ingots, Leather & Hides and Misc stuff.
- Navmeshed the new area.

V1.3a
- Fixed a small issue where I'd accidentally hidden the pullbar by the stone door when I was making the new area. You'll be able to leave now!

Misc Changes
- Updated description and added new scrrenshots.

V1.3b
- Updated the BSA file. Stupid error on my part with not keeping on top of that. Some new things might appear.

my i ask where it is?

I've run into that issue a few times, and I can't think of a permanent fix for it, but the Thrall isn't gone. It's just an issue that happens after an update. The thrall will reappear when the cell is reset (or something to that effect).

The best way to do that would be to take all of your stuff out of the home, put yourself into a vanilla interior (Sleeping Giant Inn is a favourite of mine) and save the game. Then disable the mod, load the game up again and save once more. Add the mod again, load up and it should be good to go.

thrall is missing

Well, I'm glad I gave you that "wanna stay up late" feeling! Victories like that make me glad I got started with all this.

But go to bed. Seriously.

@Jaronis,

Yeah I figured to be safe and still take everything out. Sometimes my lazy side calls out.

That container is exactly what I was suggestioning. Well not exactly but something like it. Or...Well... Not really a suggestion because it was already there... Oh god I went cross-eye.

I'll be fair on you, when I read that u integrated the smithing facility... I was suppose to go sleep since I do night shifts. And well, as you can tell I'm still awake loving every second of this mod.
TheBlowieWizard  [author] Mar 4, 2014 @ 2:51pm
Erm, not really an expert on that kind of thing, so I'll play it safe and say that you should do so. I don't think I've ever changed any containers, so it shouldn't be a problem, but it's always safer to do so.

And to be fair on you, the pictures are fairly new. I only added them in an hour ago. Hopefully that new storage is what you were wanting.

@Jaronis,

Oh... I didn't even think to look at the pictures. I'm just as much a big old idiot LOL.

Do I have to remove everything I placed inside the Den before upgrading? Its something I forgot to ask.
TheBlowieWizard  [author] Mar 4, 2014 @ 1:58pm
Alright, I think I may have overlooked something! I've only been updating the .esp file, and neglecting to update the .bsa file too! I'm a big old idiot. It's been using the same archive as it was at the beginning. I'll get that updated, and it should display the Ingot chest as it is in the screenshot. Will also lower that ceiling too, and see how it looks. Brace yourself!
TheBlowieWizard  [author] Mar 4, 2014 @ 1:52pm
Actually, the ingots chest next to it is for ingots. Let me check in game to make sure it's working as intended.
