This is a very simple and small mod, that I could have included in my main mod, but I wanted to leave the choice to players so they can decide if they like the idea and want to use it.

Planets safe enough for our people to live on are rare! Oh, that other empire likes the same planet type as we do? They are stealing our future! We should probably remove them from the galaxy, just to be safe so that they don't live on what surely should belong to us.

• introduces negative opinion modifiers for when the owner species of an empire has the same climate preference than the owner species of the other empire
  
• >> this malus is higher for having the exactly same preference and lower for only having a similar one (like Continental to Ocean)

Yes, it also applies between AI empires, not only for players.

• can be safely (de)activated during playthrough
  
• needs no DLCs
  
• should work error-free with but doesn't actively support new traits for non-vanilla climates, planet types etc. (may add that in the future, personally I don't use any mods that do this)
  
• doesn't overwrite anything so should work with basically every other mod out there
