Professor Portal Achievemet Guide

I've seen that a lot of people are having trouble getting the Coop Achievment "Proffessor Portal". To get this achievement you have to play the coop calibration course with a player who has never played coop before. Almost everybody has done this already so you might think that this achievement is impossible. But I am here to tell you how i did it and how you can do it too if you follow these instructions:

1. Launch Portal 2

2. Click on "PLAY COOPERATIVE GAME"

3. Select "STANDARD CO-OP"

4. Go to "FIND A PARTNER ONLINE"

5. A message will pop us saying that playing with a friend is more fun. Just press "OK"

6. Wait until a partner is found (this only takes a few seconds)

7. The game starts

2. Find the right Partner (this is not a dating guide)

So, when the game starts you normally spawn in the hub. If this is the case your random online partner has palyed the game before and you can leave. But if the intro playes at the start of the game you are in luck. That means that this player has not played the calibration course yet. You might have to try this a few times. If you can't find anyone try again later. For me it worked on me 27th try.

However you only get the achievement if the player is on your friends list.

Press the "t" on your keyboard to open the chat and tipe the following (copy and paste it):

Hi! I want to ask you something. Is it ok for you if I leave the game, send you a friend request, you accept it and then we start the game again. That way we would both get an achievement.

(You can only write a limited amount of text in the chat so maybe you'll have to split it)
Then wait until they answer and then leave the game and go back to steam.

I will explain how to send a friend request in the next section. ;)

This is the intro i was talking about:

3. Add a friend

1. When you are back on Steam go to "Friends"

2. Press this the fourth button from the top (translated: last played with: )

3. Select the partner that you played with before

4. Click on the button that says: "add friend" (translated)

5. Wait until the friend accepted the request

4. Get the Achievement

1. Start Portal 2 again

2. Press "PLAY COOPERATIVE GAME"

3. Invite you new friend by double tapping on the letter symbol next to their name.

4. Wait until he acceptes and the game begins

5. You will see the intro a second time and then have fun playing!

6. You will get the achievement after you played the calibration course

This was very helpful in the way achievement hunting I also like typing on my mechanical keyboard! I am typing this because I like the sound of my keyboard clacking. ( but this was quite helpful)
