FS D236 Locomotives

La locomotiva, progettata in Germania nella seconda metà degli anni trenta e classificata con la sigla WR 360 C 14, iniziò ad essere costruita nel 1936 per gli usi delle forze armate tedesche (Wehrmacht). Fra il 1936 ed il 1944 ne vennero costruite più di 250 unità che trovarono impiego nei servizi connessi alle operazioni belliche. Avevano la cassa di tipo standardizzato con differenti tipi di motorizzazione. Le locomotive erano state progettate come multiruolo, da manovra e da treno per cui la velocità era di 30 km/h o di 60 km/h in base alla versione. I colori originali erano in verde militare.

Le locomotive V 36 arrivarono in Italia nel corso della seconda guerra mondiale.

Le Ferrovie dello Stato ne presero in carico 3. La classificazione data all'origine fu D.236.001-003.

La livrea iniziale fu la castano-isabella. La 003 ricevette i colori verde con baffi gialli, in uso, a partire dagli anni 60, sui locomotori da manovra FS.
Le locomotive risultano attualmente tutte perse: la 001 è stata demolita nel 1964, le 002 e 003 vennero radiate nel 1971. La 002 venne demolita a fine anni 70 e la 003 risultò in servizio, presso un'acciaieria, fino agli anni 80.

The locomotive, designed in Germany in the second half of the thirties and classified with the initials WR 360 C 14, began to be built in 1936 for the use of the German armed forces (Wehrmacht). Between 1936 and 1944 more than 250 units were built which found employment in services connected with war operations. They had a standardized case with different types of engines. The locomotives were designed as multi-role, shunting and train for which the speed was 30 km / h or 60 km / h depending on the version. The original colors were in military green.

The V 36 locomotives arrived in Italy during the Second World War.

The Ferrovie dello Stato took charge of it 3. The classification given at the origin was D.236.001-003.

The initial livery was the chestnut-isabella. The 003 received the green colors with yellow whiskers, in use, since the 1960s, on FS shunting locomotives.
These locomotives are currently all lost: 001 was scrapped in 1964, 002 and 003 were retired in 1971. 002 was scrapped at the end of the 70s and 003 was in service at a steel mill until the 80s (probably demolished too actually).
