Space Springhares

Description
Space Springhares, also known by their scientific name Pedetes Inanis, are a herbivorous species of hopping rodent evolved to live between the stars. The species does not survive well on planets in the long-term, though some groups still try to (or are forced to) settle on them for various personal reasons.

This mod is something I've been tinkering on and off now for quite a while, and have only recently got it good enough (and updated!) to upload for public use. The Space Springhares are a species suited for life on habitats between the stars, and have an uncanny ability when it comes to voidcraft.

Features:
-Springhare pop profile pictures (Artwork by Timor)
-A Springhare trait
-A Springhare origin - crash landing in an extra-galactic cluster with no planets, stuck behind a wormhole. Expect to play tall!
-Springhare names, mostly based around hot beverages for fist name and patterns for surnames. Latin names for unfortunate translations will exist for the ships.
-A Springhare empire to play set with the above, that will spawn in the galaxy if you don't select it.

Planned:
-Animated Springhare pop profile pictures in Stellaris artwork style (By Timor)
-Custom Habitats with special districts, deposits and buildings based on making and processing Bonewood China, a resource Space Springhares rely on for construction.

If you like this mod, and/or would like to help me make more like this, please consider dropping a tip at the Pedetes Productions Ko-Fi! It all goes towards commissioning more art/graphics from Timor, as well as getting me more cups of spiffy tea~!

Just a little note/update while I have a few seconds access to steam: The laptop I use to access steam and make mods has physicaly faen apart. As such I cannot work on mods, and have no idea when I will be able to again. I'm so sorry eveyone :/

Not bad, a little disappointed it isn't the higher detail look used in the thumbnail though!

Makes sense, keep up the good work, new species mods are always good.

@ahnkra: Thank you so very much! You have no idea how much joy this brings me!
@Almega: Goodness, thank you!
@Mr. Calcium: You are absolutely correct, currently with the pace Stellaris has changed and my lack of being able to keep up, things have got to a bit of a disrepair with the mod. I do plan on working on things when I get a bit of extra time, covid has caused issues with this though, due to extended work times. Hopefully soon this (and more!) will be addressed!

Unsure if this is the placeholder mentioned, but the habitats of any race that uses the origin are pitch black.

Oh i grabbed this for Rimworld when I saw it there, guess they are at home here in Stellaris as well. Awesome race for both games I think, ty!

@Silveressa: When developing the mod atthe start the intention was to work a ship set eventually, hoping to learn how to do such and give it an extension of the species bonewood china theme. In the meantime there was one of the default ship sets used. Sadly, with how things are going in the pandemic (key worker and self employed trying to keep finances above water as well as caring/shielding assistance), I've been having a hard time between everything just keeping the mods I made up to date, let alone learning to mod shipsets. It's probabe in the next update I'll have to resign to scrapping custom ship set plans and remove the placeholders. I'm so sorry!

@ jalang: Aha, tempting! Though that might be better suited for a rabbit based speaces rather then a rodent one such as this. 'Tis a good thought I had not considered, though!

I noticed they have a custom ship choice as well, can we get a few screenshots of their ships appearances?
