Medieval Cog

Cogs were a common ship type betwen the 10th and 12th centuries in medieval Europe. Most often used for trade, some had "castles" attached to them for battle purposes. Theses castles offered raised platforms from where archers and other soldiers would have a height advantage and protection over other ships, which was one of the key factors in the boarding centered combat of medieval naval warfare.

This ship is quite fast with full wind from behind. So much so i decided to add some ballast in the form of a stone stockpile right beneath the mast. Feel free to remove the stones for more speed or to make room for cargo.
The rudder can be controlled either via controlable drums or directly from the aft castle.
