A More Perfect Union: The COINstitutional Convention, 1787 [Submission Draft]

Description
On September 3rd, 1783 the Treaty of Paris had been signed formally ending the American Revolution, but the fragile ties that bound the 13 states together were already being profoundly tested. By 1787, the American union was in disarray. The incompatible demands of the separate states threatened its existence; some states were even in danger of turning into the kind of tyranny they had so recently deposed. A truly national government was needed, one that could raise money, regulate commerce, and defend the states against foreign threats–without becoming as overbearing as Britain.

A More Perfect Union allows you to experience this piece of history as one of the four key delegates with a personal agenda that you believe will protect your state’s interests and secure the future of the American Experiment. As one of these influential delegates, you must correspond with your fellow countrymen to gather allies. These allies will be the vital supporters of your plan to rescue the fledgling nation from its troubles and those who would seize it.

At the convention itself you will position allies onto key committees, push state delegates to vote, control the flow of issues, and compromise with your fellow delegates to forge the basis of a new Constitution.
