Travis Touchdown Voice (Nick)

Description
I know a lot of gamers out there dont have much patience...'least that's what Bishop, the dude at the video store said.

IMPORTANT!!!!
The video I included is a more straightforward way to install this mod properly without reading a wall of text. This was long overdue and I apologize for the incredible waste of time and frustration this otherwise caused. This will also go for any other voice mods that I have done as they are structured the same way.

(Video credit all goes to the uploader, Rune Chan.)

ALSO!!!!
If sounds are cutting off, that may be because I updated this addon. Simply re-subscribe and type in console on the main menu "snd_buildsoundcachefordirectory ../custom" so that longer sounds may play completely.

My first full-fledged voice mod pack, and meant to coincide with DemonicDevilDiran's Travis Touchdown over Nick mod.

This will be updated slowly over time the more files I can manage to salvage from NMH1 and TSA (since NMH2 doesnt layer its audio, its nigh impossible to get a remotely clean rip from cutscenes since music or sound effects will constantly overlap dialogue...)

Thankfully I now know any audio file regardless of length can be swapped in as long as the custom audio cache is rebuilt after every update to this addon! (see the bottom of this guide for how to do that)

I'm also working on a script to allow skipped/missing lines replace ones that do exist so random silence doesnt just come out of nowhere.

There is currently four-hundred and eight lines replaced.

Most of the common lines that players will hear are replaced, but none of the contexual world observations are modified. I found it's surprisingly easy to replace any line with anything so there will be more lines overtime.

...And that's all I have for now, since alot of the lines I want to replace (especially with certain lines from the games) are either to long or have to much combined audio in the cutscene to drown out that it makes the desired clip not even worth using in the end.

This is also why I'm debating on releasing a small yet questionable of quality Sylvia voice pack as well, since she only talks in cutscenes with either her theme or some kind of music playing. Let me know if I should still release that (if you're a diehard fan or just curious.)

ALSO THIS IS HOW TO SPECIFICALLY INSTALL THESE FILES

Follow this guide here first to setup a "custom" folder: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2108763927

Once your done, download GCFScape if you haven't already: https://download.cnet.com/GCFScape/3000-20432_4-75182007.html

Once you do, right click on L4D2 in your Steam library and go to Manage then Browse Local files.

Inside go to "left4dead2" (the lowercase folder) and then "addons", then finally "workshop". Inside are all the addons you downloaded. Find the thumbnail for this addon, and the vpk file following that thumbnail is the workshop file itself. Open up GCFScape then drag that vpk file into it, and it should show the file path of the voice lines.
(\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice\gambler)

Create that file path in the "custom" folder you made and drag and drop the voice lines found in GCFScape into the new "gambler" folder in the "custom" file path.

For removing Nick's leftover lines safely if you dont want two voices out of Travis, go to Nicks standard file path used by the game (\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice\gambler) and (\left4dead2_dlc1\sound\player\survivor\voice\gambler) and in both "gambler" folder create a backup folder (call it whatever you want). Simply move all the files from "gambler" into there.

Afterwards, start up the game, and once all your addons load go into console and type in "snd_rebuildaudiocache" and let the game do it's things. Once it's done the console should pop up again, type "quit", then go back ingame.

And you're done! Travis should only sound like himself for the 200-ish lines that he has.

I plan on doing voices for as many NMH characters as possible, and many more characters in the future, so stay tuned!
