===== Map Introduction and Origin =====

Beacon Mental Hospital lies amidst the crowded Krimson City, and many dark secrets lie within this old, dilapidated mental asylum / hospital. While I can't tell you everything about it due to spoilers, it's a very important location from The Evil Within, a survival-horror game. If you want to live, avoid the beacon of light that emits from the central tower…

===== Map Details Summary =====

This is an update to my previous map rp_beacon_mh, but is getting its own separate workshop post for just how big an update it is. And with one month left 'til October, why not. The previous version just includes the save area in an intermediary state, and is a bit early-days, but this version goes much farther;

It now includes many more sections found connected to the save area in the middle of and at the end of the main campaign, as well as a smidgen of The Assignment / The Consequence DLC. Can you escape STEM? Who can say, but he has to be stopped…

The map is named rp_beacon_v3b

Updates to the map include the following:
~ The resupply lockers have been polished up a lot; new custom models!
~ The brushwork in the save area has been cleaned up a bit
~ Claire De Lune is no longer global; it now plays from the radio in the save area
~ Added the hallway from the transition into the chapter "Losing Grip on Ourselves"
~ Added a STEM Terminal
~ Added sections from the chapter "An Evil Within"
~ The map is now fully ground-noded
~ Does NOT include the main lobby of the hospital itself

Are there jumpscares now, in this version? …no, not really.

Excellent map! Thanks for not adding jumpscares, it's much better for tension when fighting NPCs or immersion with friends...

Dude. Working on this map is no short task already, but with the number of changes you were asking for? I know it's gonna be a lengthy endeavor. And I've been mapping for enough years to know that, no matter how short you think a particular endeavor's gonna be, it's not. Unless you have no quality standards. And the day I lose mine would be a sad day indeed.

My estimate was honest. No shade being thrown. If you can't take a bit of reality, then I'm sorry, but I really can't help you. Have fun with that map file anyways; it's an absolute pain to recompile.

hello i just wanted to kno if youre gonna make ruviks mansion? i really love TEW and ive been tryin to find a mansion that looks the closest but havin no luck but if you arnt then its fine :)

Actually, there was going to be an enemies mode, but HL2 put a hard "No" on that when I tried. Sorry. Glad you like it though.

I love the original game so much that I know you put work into the detail of creating this map. Not only did you correctly recreate the buildings and rooms in the order you go through them but also worked in the transitions. It's sad there is no spawning enemies but I think if someone wanted to adding "[VJ] Mob of the Dead" they not only look like the real games enemies but attack the same.
