Double XP Prevention - White Acute Module

This is a short guide on how to use a White Acute Module to stop gaining extra XP during a double-XP event, and how it can be used to level slower outside it (for those who prefer not being over-leveled).

The Double XP Event

This event doubles the amount of XP, Valor, Renown and other points earned for doing various content in the game.

The event lasts various amounts of time, usually several weeks, and only starts appearing after an expansion has been out for a significant amount of time (~6m+).

This is a great time to level up characters, work towards valor 100 or just enjoy the story while naturally-over leveling.

However, some people dislike the quick leveling, and this guide is mainly for them.

The White Acute Module

The White Acute Module is an item that voluntarily prevents XP gains from the double XP event, various XP boosts and even reduces base XP gains outside the event.

This item is a clickable that can be infinitely re-used (think reusable stim/medpack), and each use gives you an 8-hour buff (debuff).

This is a buff you can click off (again, like a stim/medpack) if you decide you no-longer want to gain less XP.

Why did BW make this? Because some people don't like how fast you can level, and this was their solution.

Outside the event, people use this to level slower, giving themselves an experience closer to what the game was like before level-sync and the greatly increased XP gains we now enjoy at baseline.

People also use this to let their toons remain in lowbie/midbie PvP brackets longer.

Where to Get It

You can get this module from a Gree vendor in the Combat Training Section of fleet

Imperial Combat Training is on the upper right;
Republic Combat Training is on the lower left.

• The module is legacy bound
  
• You only need one per server to have it available to all your toons
  
• ONLY available during a double XP event

I leveled up 3 other classes with the last 2x event, and i did the story, without any drawbacks or difficulties, and i found joy while reading the whole cutscenes and all.
Also, as dimosha said, there are 999 levels of renown, so, from my point of view i see that item, pointless, with due respect.
But to each their own.

@ser Menalak - they don't bind, so you can move one around to any toon(s) that need it without it getting used up/bound to that toon.

@edelgard von Hresvelg - It's fairly new; sometime in 5.0 IIRC

@Brother Selarroc - it's for people looking to 'opt out' of the XP bonus, or slow the current normal leveling rate (outside the 2x XP events)

@dimosha.92 it's for people who want to level slower, usually to make the story content more difficult, or to stay below 75 in PvP (aka, in midbies) as long as possible.
People complained to BW that with leveling as fast as it is, they hated 2x XP as it made enjoying the game impossible for them.

I ended up finding him after a bit of confusion, and toggling the vendor icons off and on didn't do anything. This was before I saw this post, but I'm glad you included a map for those having trouble finding him.

@PLZ - not sure why; you can see his vendor icon on the map in the guide... and those were taken during this most recent event.

Maybe try de/re-selecting the vendor toggle?

Either way, the location doesn't change, so going there will let you click him (yellow/red circle, depending on faction) ^_^
