Extended Immortality

Description
Extended Immortality aims to provide a more challenging and rewarding experience for players who prefer to play immortal rulers. While playing as an immortal can be an enjoyable RPG-like experience in CK3, it also negates or trivializes many of the core game mechanics such as dealing with disease and injury, breeding high-quality heirs, and managing succession laws. This mod aims to fix that.

Features
  • Become immortal (decisions menu)
  • Share your immortality with others.
  • Adjust the visual appearance of any immortal's age to anything you want (right-click your character and choose "Select Visual Age").
  • Cleanse injuries and diseases at the cost of stress and temporary health penalties (decisions menu)
  • Become immune to disease permanently by gaining and cleansing yourself of six different severe ailments (decisions menu). A prompt in the cleanse screen will notify you of which ailments count towards the total.
  • Absorb the congenital traits of your primary heir (right-click your heir and choose "Absorb Genes"). More on this below.
  • "Blood" dynasty tree perks now affect trait inheritance chance for traits absorbed using the "Absorb Traits" option on your heir.
  • New game rule makes all immortality decisions free. essentially enabling a cheat mode (on top of the already cheaty fact that you're immortal to begin with).
  • Reset your lifetime invasion or faith creation/reformation limits once every 20 years.
  • Always Move Realm Capital was released as a companion to this mod to release the limitation of only being able to move your realm capital once per lifetime.

Absorbing Traits
Both positive and negative genetic traits are absorbed from heirs when using this option. Traits are gained at a high percentage chance, but are not guaranteed. If your heir does not have traits that you do have, you have a low probability to lose those traits. Characters can only donate traits to you once per lifetime, and you can only absorb traits from heirs once every 10 years. Non-genetic traits will never be absorbed.

Having one's genetics absorbed into an immortal dynasty member's blood is typically regarded as an honorable and desirable thing to do, as the individual being potentially sacrificed is able to give a part of themselves that will live forever in their brethren. Some convincing may still be required to get your heirs to agree, but generally you will find them willing participants.

Still, there are severe consequences to absorbing traits. Your heir might be rendered infertile or even killed, and you will suffer stress and temporary health penalties. You will have to choose carefully when to absorb each heir's traits; too soon and you'll rob yourself of the chance for them to pass their genes on to potential children, too late and you'll run the risk of them dying before you get a chance. If you kill an heir without absorbing or removing any of your traits in the process, you will gain a heavy penalty for doing so. This is largely to discourage abusing this mechanic to kill off heirs without consequences.

Compatibility
No core game files were harmed in the making of this mod. It should be compatible with pretty much everything.

Thanks
- @Paige 404 for sharing the religion creation flag name.
- @FunGaming44 for many good suggestions and bug testing.

Known Issues
  • Each time you choose to add or subtract from your visual age, you'll get two toasts notifying you that you've lost and regained the immortal trait. This is because immortality has to be removed and reapplied to make the visual effects process properly and all traits that are added or removed get toasts. If anyone knows a better (and quieter) way to do this, I'd love to know.

Hey all I have done a german Translation for my brother some time ago and tryed to fix the decision problem in the new version. It works for me but be aware I don't tested it properly. Because you may have need of It I uploaded it to workshop now so everybody can use it in German and English so you can benefit from the decisions again. Mod is linked in Discussions

Man, I'm trying a bunch of these immortality mods and none work. I have Pika cheat menu that i can get immortality with but I want one that freezes my age. I've tried 3-4 now and none of them do anything, they're supposed to be in my decisions menu but nope...
