Features

This mod adds 8 different types of Flying Raft:

-Flying Raft: Simillar to the vanilla raft in every way except it can fly.
-Flying Cutter: A small but super fast vessel.
-Flying Cog: A small transport vessel good for all-around use.
-Flying Cutter: A medium vessel that still has room for good speed.
-Flying Galleon: A large vessel with very high health. A true battleship.
-Flying Merchantman: A large transport vessel with a huge cargo and build capacity.
-Flying Saucer: Take to the air with this futuristic, super fast ship. Hold <shift> while flying for special effects.
-Flying Mothership: A large, futuristic vessel with a large cargo and build capacity. Hold <shift> while flying for special effects.

Note: Each Flying Raft variant must have be fitted with custom structure supports before building upon them. Build these in the Flying Raft Crafting Station.

Stats?: Relative stats for each are shown in the first picture on the mod's main Description page.

Each Flying Raft has the following features:

-A custom radial menu: Includes the options to Hide/Show Sails, Hide/Show Platform, 1x/5x/10x mounted zoom options, and an option to destroy the Flying Raft.
-Cargo Hold: Flying rafts have a cargo hold, making it easier to store your loot.

This mod also includes:

-Flying Raft Crafting Station: Craft everything flying raft-related items here.
-Floatstone Forge: Refine metal here to occasionally discover a piece of floatstone. Floatstone is needed to build Flying Rafts.
-16 Craftable Alternate Mainsails: Use these in a Flying Raft's costume slot to decorate its appearance.
-8 Craftable Alternate Hulls: Use these in a Flying Raft's legs slot to decorate its appearance and provide a small armor boost. 2 additional "normal" hull designs are also available.
-8 Craftable Alternate Deckings: Use these in a Flying Raft's torso slot to decorate its appearance and provide a small armor boost. 1 additional "normal" decking design is also available.

About Flying Rafts

The process to build a flying raft is difficult and uses Floatstone. To farm for Floatstone, build a Floatstone Forge in the Flying Raft Crafting station. Be warned, it is a very rare material and it can take quite some time to find some. Once your Flying Raft is crafted, you must construct the appropriate Flying Raft Structure Supports and attach them just like adding a saddle to a mount in order to build structures upon it.

Press the jump button (spacebar by default) in order to switch in to or out of flying mode. If you land in water, you will be able to sail as a normal raft. If you land out of water, you will be grounded until you take to the air again. While grounded, the flying raft will float just above the ground but be unable to move until it fully takes off. The new Flying Saucer and Flying Mothership can hover along the ground, even when landed.

Please Note

While this new raft feels like the existing rafts, there are several changes to be aware of.
-No matter how steep your ascent/descent, all mounts will stick to their spot as long as they aren't ridden. A smart captain would still try to keep the ship even and steady, just in case. Loose items will certainly get knocked overboard.
-Be careful when landing your ship - don't come in at too steep of an angle or any crewmen/crewmounts on the forward part of the deck will go overboard.
-When taking off, you may have some "false starts" where you immediately land again. Keep trying, like revving up an old car, and change your camera angle. She'll get back up in the air!

What is Floatstone?

Floatstone is a unique mineral found rarely in metal ore. Some survivors believe it is large deposits of Floatstone that allow the floating islands found on some maps to exist. By building a special forge of crystal, a Floatstone Forge, survivors can try to filter out and collect this rare mineral. A Floatstone Forge can be created in a Flying Raft Crafting Station.

Be warned, once exposed to air while in its pure form, it rapidly starts to degrade and will eventually break apart. Floatstone Forges and Flying Raft Crafting Stations are specially designed to keep Floatstone from degrading for a little while longer than if left lying about or in one's pocket.

What can Floatstone be used for and why is it so valuable? Floatstone is a very necessary ingredient for making the different varieties of Flying Rafts. The larger the design of a Flying Raft, the more Floatstones it takes to create. Its quite a challenge collecting enough Floatstone at one time to craft the larger designs of Flying Raft.

Can Floatstone be used for anything else? Yes, many creative survivors load their pockets and packs full of Floatstone to give them more carry capacity while out farming. Most survivors would consider this a waste because of how long it takes to acquire and its short life spawn. Fair warning while carrying large amounts of Floatstone: mounts and Flying Rafts cannot move while their weight is less than zero.
