About Cinders

Cinders aims to provide a fresh experience through Dark Souls 3. It is a total overhaul, meaning practically everything has been touched in someway.

Step One: Installation

First of all, you need to download Cinders from Nexus Mods, here's the link:
https://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls3/mods/310?tab=files
Then you need to move all the files and folders into your game directory.
Usually it's like this:
Steam > SteamApps > common > Dark Souls III > Game
Be sure that your game language is set to English, otherwise DS won't work correctly.
Well done! You successfully finished installation of Cinders mod!

Step Two: Co-op Settings

WARNING!
Don't play online in Cinders if you don't want to be softbanned!

There's two little steps to play Cinders online:
1. Locate "modengine.ini" in game folder, open it, look for Online section, find "blockNetworkAccess=1" and just replace 1 with 0.
2. Use password Cinders in game.

hey so i tried doing all of that but when i put dinput8.dll in the files and run the game, it slows the game down to the point of it being unplayable, and i do have a pc that can run dark osuls 3 on max but like i said when i put dinput8.dll in the files, it becomes unbelievably slow, what do i do?

Hey man, you happen to know how to install multiple mods with Cinders? I tried installing an armor/skin mod after running Cinders and stashed it in a newly made separate mods folder in the Game directory. When I booted my save it didn't work, I moved the mod files into the Cinders folder instead but still nothing happened. Do I need to tweak some stuff in modengine.ini? Or do I need to start up a fresh new save?

Well, you can delete all game files and check for local files.

Confused about how to avoid a ban switching to vanilla. I understand removing dinput8.dll will remove modengine.ini and disable Cinders but if I do this and go back to my main account and start up DS3 in online mode will this still provoke a softban, even when Cinders is disabled? Does fromsoft detect files present in your gamefolder somehow or does the mod only provoke a ban when it is actively played in onlinemode?

The thing is I want to play Cinders online on my alt with a friend and I play vanilla online with my GF on my main.
