About this mod
CA revamp the world map in the new DLC. Gate passes are added and map are expanded in the northeastern and southwestern area. Besides, they have also rename all regions, including commanderies and countries. Although CA did carry out a lot of research about the map changing, some errors still appeared, such as dislocation of counties and incorrect use of region names.

This mod overhauls the new region names to make them more historically accurate. And a corresponding campaign world map is made to give you a better sense of immersive.

For the record:
This mod tries to use well-known town names while referring to their actual position in history. So this mod can only ensure 80% of historical accuracy.

Content of mod
1. Names to all regions according to the administrative division of Eastern Han Dynasty and Three Kingdoms Period (180-220AD).
2. The names of commanderies follow the format of "Province - Commandery", like "YU - YINGCHUAN".
3. A new corresponding campaign world map showing the name of regions, famous mountains, rivers and lakes of that period of time.

Note: This mod can be used in all campaign games.

Some background informations:
1. How did Eastern Han Dynasty govern?
Founded by Liu Xiu, the Emperor Guangwu of Han, the Eastern Han Empire (25 - 220AD) was one of the greatest empire in Chinese history.

Compared to the Roman Empire in the other side of the earth at the same time, the Eastern Han Empire was a much more stable authority (at least in its early and middle stage) in several aspects:

a. Succession:
The imperial crown can only be succeed by the eldest legitimate son of the emperor rather than entitled by the Senate.

b. Centralization:
Eastern Han followed the way of Qin and Western Han Dynasty: the hierarchical system of commanderies and countries. Empire was divided into small districts and the local administors were directly appointed by the central government to ensure the emperor's will can reach every part of the empire. Also, local standing military forces were not allowed.

c. Culture:
Ever since Qin defeated other six kingdoms and founded the first empire in Chinese history (221BC), there were only one written language, one law system and one official religion in China. The culture of ancient China was highly unified and that's why "the empire, long divided, must unite".

2. How was the empire divided?
The administrative structure of Eastern Han:

Administrative unit
Administrator title
Province (州 zhou)
Inspector (刺史 cishi)
Governor (牧 mu, changed in late stage of Eastern Han)
Commandery (郡 jun)
Grand administrator (太守 taishou)
County (縣 xian)
Prefect (令 ling)

The 13 provinces of Han territory:

At the beginning, the chief of a province was called Inspector, who only was responsible for inspecting the commandery-level administrators and didn't have real authority.

However, after the Yellow Turban Rebellion breaking out, Emeperor Liu Hong took the suggestion from Liu Yan (later became the Governer of Yi province) to change the title from Inspector to Governor. Governers had real executive powers to govern the whole province and was allowed to raise their local armies.

That's where our story began.

Historical records indicate that Chen Commandery existed and retained its name during the late Eastern Han and early Three Kingdoms period, at least until Cao Zhi's death in 232 AD, as he was given the title of Prince of Chen after Cao Pi became emperor, thus did Cao Zhi succeed Liu Chong as the new Wei Prince of Chen.

The renaming to Pingyu and the transition to Qiao Commandery likely occurred posthumously, possibly during later reorganization efforts by the Wei or Jin dynasties, but it's difficult to say when this happened, if it ever even did happen during the administration of Wei at all. Likely not until Jin.

So, I think you are just a fan of the KoeiTecmo games, and wanted to rename it Qiao commandery, and the city renamed to Pingyu just because you like it that way, not because you want historical accuracy.
