Description
Team Heroes
Adds heroes to each team.

Stick with your team's hero or lead the charge as a hero!
The hero will buff your allies and debuff enemies.
Be sure to stick near your team hero as they can lead you to victory!

Main inspiration came from the Star Wars Battlefront classic series where a hero is added to both teams.

Hero Buffs:
200 Max health
150 overheal to nearby ally units
Resupplies health and ammo to nearby teammates every second

Hero Debuffs:
5 Damage to nearby enemies every second

Modifiers:
I exposed a bunch of variables, so hopefully you can play the game the way you want it.
They are listed below:

  • proximity damage delay
  • proximity damage amount
  • proximity damage range
  • hero flag size
  • disable hero flag
  • disable hero skin

  • disable recruitment
  • recruit range
  • recruit amount
  • hero color hue

Number of heroes are configurable as a set number or percent for each team.
Note: the percent config will always round up to the nearest integer when selecting heroes.

You can choose to be picked randomly as a hero, always be a hero, or never be a hero.

FAQ:
Q: Have you tried attaching the flag to the back of the soldiers?
A: I have, the flag while end up floating in place when they die, which looks bad. Plus it blocks the vision of the player's camera when they prone/swim.

Q: Why doesn't the flag follow the player/bots when they ragdoll?
A: I noticed that too. Apparently parenting the flag to the ragdoll only seems to move to the ragdoll's position at the last second --when the player/bots stand up. It doesn't consistently stick to their body.

Q: Why does the hero flag looks exactly the same as the capture point flags?
A: I don't have much experience with 3D modelling. So I just copied the capture point flag. The main difference is that the heroes carry a wooden pole flag instead. That way you can tell them apart. :)

Q: Does smoke grenade block hero's proximity damage?
A: Yes.

Q: How do I see who is the randomly selected hero on each team?
A: Press the "Page Up" key on your keyboard. That will bring up the debug log and you'll see who have been selected.

Also suggestion: Give the heroes some kind of Aura instead of a flag.
