Immersive Sounds - Footsteps

Description
The footstep sound playback in Skyrim is a gutted mess. At first I found myself annoyed by how illogical it behaved and seldom played the right type of footstep sound, wether it be based on the terrain type or the type of armor you're wearing. Once I started looking into how things worked in the Creation Kit, it became very apparent to me just how bad it was. It appears to me that Bethesda has had to make severe concessions in order to fit the game into the lackluster specs of the console versions.

There are several mods out there that edit the footstep sounds. But as far as I've seen none of them truly go all the way in fixing all of the problems and caveats presents. Thus, this mod is my attempt at making the most thorough overhaul of not only Skyrim's footstep sounds in themselves, but also how they behave in the game. Given my very iterative process of creating the sounds, testing ingame, tweaking them accordingly, rinse and repeat... this project was a pain in the ass with literally hundreds of sounds to deal with, but the payoff was worth it.

NOTE: Due to the limited capabilities of the Steam Workshop I can only provide this mod here in a very basic state. To download the optional patch for Dragonborn (Solstheim ash footsteps) and/or the alternate version with different heavy armor sounds, you must visit the Nexus page for the mod:

Dude i absolutely love your mod i added it in my plublic mod list. And about the audio being to loud you can adjust the setting in the menu, so no problem. ''tumbs up''
=======================

Below is the modlist i compiled, i included also a method to bumb up the Ugrid to 7 without any CTD's. Ugrid enhances the field of view. It work's for me so i tought: spread the word for people who dont know the method.

All props go to Shenson for raising the Ugrid in a stable way!

nice mod but i found it a bit anoying that every light step you take sounds like someones throwing iron pots out of a window onto concrete (i was wearing Lether)

Not a negative critique, I think the idea is great and very necessary, but it needs some polishing. The new footsteps are too loud, even lowering the setting to half. At first I thought the mod had done something to the other game sounds because everything was muted, voices, menus, etc. But it was just the aftershock in my ears after too much hearing the footsteps. Problem with heavy armor, I confirm what others have said. Light armor too, it sounds like you had a loose footsole.
