Monopoly For Millennials

Descriere
This mod is a non-scripted version of Monopoly For Millennials by Hasbro.

As a millennial, I actually don't mind this version of the game at all. It's quite a bit simpler than the base game, and the board is smaller, but it's actually pretty good for a quick Monopoly-styled game. The change to a focus on experience is interesting to me. It does make the game quite a bit more luck based and random, instead of 'wheeling and dealing', but it's also a heck of a lot faster.
I also don't take the tongue-in-cheek style of the game too seriously like others seem to.
I dunno, I like it.

Included are scans of the money, destinations, chance cards, community chest cards, experience chips, and a modified pdf version of the instructions.

Credits
The main credit in regards to the game itself is to Hasbro.

Scans of the cards, money, and chips were all ported into TTS by me using my own physical copy of the game.

The board image is one I found online from Amazon, upscaled and tweaked a bit in an attempt to make it clearer when zoomed in.
The instructions are from Hasbro's web site, but their pdf was structured very weirdly. I took it and made it more manual-like.
The table image is a picture of black granite that I found doing an image search.
The background is from hdrihaven.com

This mod also wouldn't have been possible without other workshops
Player tokens
Only used the gold versions because the six tokens in this version of the game were all gold.

Money stacks from a scripted version of Monopoly
All I did was change the texture to match the money used in this version.

Experience Chip bag
A custom chip model that is stacked into three stacks, combined with the tool into one item, then combined with a very tiny invisible chip in the middle of the stacks, which is then subsequently turned into a bag.

Table extension/Player area
I changed the texture and customizey bits to make it shiny and reflective like the main table, then cropped the felt portion out of the default texture and turned it into a custom token to make use of its tint-ability.

Second table
I made it taller to more closely match the main table.

Game box from Battlestar Galactica: The Board Game
I changed the texture and resized it to match the longer, narrower, and thinner Monopoly box.

Notes
I'm no modeller, otherwise I would have included the six unique player tokens instead of the base ones.

I am also not a scripter, so everything needs to be done manually. Honestly though, the game is easy enough that scripting really isn't all that necessary. $100 is already pre-dealt to players using four 20's and four 5's. All that is required at the start is a quick shuffle of the Chance and Community Chest cards.

All of the cards, chips, and money can be drawn to your hand. I did it for the convenience of making it easier to pull things to you with the press of a button.. however, some Chance and Community Chest cards are probably meant to not be seen by other players. Also, other players aren't supposed to see your Experience Chips.. so draw them to your hand, look at them, flip them, and set them aside. Or just make yourself a hidden area and put them in there.

Used player colors red, orange, blue, and purple because they felt thematic for the style the game was going for.

The game box is there for saving purposes, should you want to do your own thing. It contains everything the actual box would: game board, player tokens, chance cards, community chest cards, destination cards, xp chips, dice, money, and the instructions.

Adil3tr: They did make a socialism one, and it said "Winning is Only for Capitalists" I saw that one at target BTW.

Mink: Yeah I guess so... Yeah it is a shame. I love tongue-in-cheek humor, so I in no way took this seriously. It seems like a good variant on monopoly as well as a faster one. I normally don't like monopoly, but this one caught my eye, it's very bright colored you know. xD

@Coder4Christ More amusing than hilarious. Some people just took the tongue-in-cheek tone of the game too personally and got offended. Kind of a shame.

@Adil3tr No idea. Honestly wouldn't be surprised though, since there's pretty much a Monopoly game for just about anything these days.

I can feel the cancer. Didn't they make a socialism one, and then a lean in one?

I saw this game at Walmart shortly after it came out, and I considered getting it, but I decided not to in favor of some other Hasbro games I didn't already have, It seems hilarious. xD
