Alpine Climate - Snow at 700m

Description
New climate mod for Transport Fever 2, based on a Swiss Alpine landscape.

This mod only changes the paint layers and does not affect terrain generation. Base grass layer is mixed with light grass at lower elevations, changing to a lighter green grass and eventually the alpine grass before finally transitioning to a scree layer and then the snow cap. Snow should start appearing at around 700 meters in elevation.

Because there are many different maps available on the workshop, with mountains at all sorts of different heights, variants with snow appearing at 1000 meters and 1500 meters meters are also available. Pick whichever option works best for your game.

This mod is free to add and remove to any save game, uses all vanilla textures, and can be activated by changing the "Climate" option in the Advanced Settings menu on game loadup.

Thank you to Spearin for his Rocky Climate mod, which inspired, informed, and formed the basis of this mod.

Known Bug:
All foliage types appear with this mod enabled. Using a temperate generator can help to minimize the amount of palm trees and/or cacti spawning on the map, but they still appear in the lots of homes built. Not sure how to fix it. Any ideas, please share.

Works fine for me (after enabling the mod on load and changing the climate setting to Alpine 700m), tested on a custom map.

Could you do this mod for 500m as well? Would be great for some flatter maps to have at least a change in colour (brown/orange and grey). Thanks!

Doesn't work for me. Any of them. Just creates mesas no mountains and no snow. Don't know why

Good looking map! But honestly, you go ahead and release it. I genuinely don't know when I'll have the time in the next few weeks to update, so please, upload it yourself.

Here you can find a preview image of the map which I will release soon - and which would use the new mod: https://i.imgur.com/7pICo3R.jpg
