Explanation Of Issues
If you have a Synapse enabled Razer mouse there is a chance you have run into issues when playing Deep Rock. Synapse is a feature for certain Razer products (keyboards, mice, etc.) where the user can customize the light effects for the product. Some developers create features in their games unique to Razer & Synapse. The game will take over the program & have unique lighting. For example, Diablo III turns the mouse & keyboard red upon launch, lights up the action keys for the game, creates a unique light animation when the character levels up, etc. Deep Rock Galactic is one of the few games to take advantage of the Synapse features but sadly it looks like it is the root of the mouse issues...

The mouse issues I was getting unique to Deep Rock were having the cursor jitter & dart to unintended areas of the screen, as well as mouse movement completely hard locking for about 2-3 seconds randomly while playing. In the next section I will quickly show how to disable Synapse specifically for this game...
Disabling Synapse For Deep Rock
To disable Synapse solely for Deep Rock Galactic:
- Open Razer Synapse
- Select the Connect tab
- Select Apps
- Select FSD-Win64-Shipping.exe (note the Deep Rock icon)
- Select "Enable this app" to turn off Synapse for Deep Rock (you will need to restart Deep Rock for this to take effect)

Alternatively you can reach the Apps screen by:
- Opening Razer Synapse
- Selecting the Mouse tab
- Selecting Lighting
- Scrolling to the bottom of the page
- Note the text: "The FSD-Win64-Shipping.exe app is currently controlling your device's lighting."
- Select Manage Chroma Apps
- This will bring you to the Apps screen
- Select FSD-Win64-Shipping.exe (note the Deep Rock icon)
- Select "Enable this app" to turn off Synapse for Deep Rock (you will need to restart Deep Rock for this to take effect)
Troubleshooting
HOWEVER at first doing this did not work for me. The Connect tab was not in Synapse for me & selecting apps under Mouse Lighting took me nowhere. Turns out if you don't install a bunch of additional Razer features it locks these options despite being active. Here is what fixed this for me..

- Follow this link: https://www.razer.com/ca-en/downloads
- Download Razer Synapse 3 (Beta)
- When given the selections to install, install anything to do with Mouse/Keyboard lighting

This will install the Connect tab in Synapse & you should now be able to disable Deep Rock lighting functionality.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mouse still jittering around on the screen but no longer hard locking? Also seen lots of complaints about this on Razer forums around the internet. The popular solution seems to be:

- Get a Q-tip
- Get rubbing alcohol (70% or less)
- Dip Q-tip into rubbing alcohol
- Stick Q-tip gently into the sensor hole on the bottom of the mouse & twist around to clean the sensor

Did this myself & seems to have stopped the cursor jumping for now. Just make sure to be careful as always when mixing liquids with electronics.
Final Note
I have only tested it briefly but so far it seems to have solved the mouse twitching and deadlock issues. Personally if Synapse functionality is broken & cannot be fixed I highly recommend the devs just cut out the feature as I am pretty sure this will effect any user that owns a Razer light enabled mouse. I hope this guide helped fix this problem for my fellow miners reading this guide. Rock And Stone brothers!

I can no longer use the lighting software as it eats a core and a half on my machine for no apparent reason. I'm fairly certain they're mining cryptocurrency in their drivers at this point; no other thing they do should cause such insane CPU usage. Razer and Logitech both blow.

I noticed that as well and wasn't sure if it was just me. Guess they outright disabled it rather than fix the issues?

I like the chroma lighting but it doesn't work anymore :(

It works fine here. I also refuse to login to their cloud services since they use it to steal information and sell it to advertisers.

I love the feature too, which is why its a shame that its now totally broke for me. Said before but my guess is it was some Synapse update that caused the issues. Hope it doesn't break for you. :pleased:

my synapse mouse works fine....I am not sure why. I love when games utilize the lighting features of razer. It works great for me on several games including this one.

@spycrab luigi no problem! Hope it helps other people. On my end it seems to have eliminated issues just disabling Synapse for the game while leaving the lighting on for the mouse/keyboard, hopefully it stays that way lol.

I had the same problem a year back. Disabling the Chroma lights altogether fixed the issue. Devs said the Razer Chroma drivers are kinda ass so they're difficult to work around. Thanks for sharing!

@djlohse What is strange is it was running fine for me as well for a long time then suddenly I started having issues, perhaps due to a software update?
