Hi Cyan! Good question. Since Resource and Skill pools clear at the end of each player's turn, there shouldn't be two players that would have Skill in their pool at the same time to contribute to a Portent (since Plots resolve during the Narrative Phase, that is why multiple players can contribute to those).

Hope that helps! Let me know if you have other questions.

Can multiple people work on a single portent objective together? Such as if 2 players both put in 1 generic each to complete one of the bubbles?

Sanctuary Saga: Prelude Closed Beta is accepting applicants!

A video game set in the time before Sanctuary's founding, guide disgruntled guild leaders leaving their homelands to face the harsh Untamed Wilds. Row-based battles with arguing allies reward strategic play in this 16-bit JRPG.

Small Quality of Life patch posted today. This is mostly standardizing colors between the TTS version and an upcoming Print-on-Demand release that I hope to have additional news about soon. Nerfed a few of the Generic Narrative Cards. Check the notes for more info!

Let me know if you have any questions or comments on the Discord! :)

Patch 0.5 is posted! This focused on play balance for Chapter Two to even the difficulty among 2, 3, and 4 player games. Includes a slight nerf to Orator. Check out the Change Notes for full description and rationale.

Also don't forget about our fund drive to unlock the first expansion! 16% of the way there: https://ko-fi.com/boomersworkshop

Glad to hear you're enjoying it! I've tested the chapters in my personal playthroughs with all two guild combinations, as well as three guild combinations and have beat all the currently designed chapters that way. Four player games are much hard to test for, so I do less testing on those. Like most deckbuilders, two players will probably be the easiest as long as both players have a solid idea of what they are doing. I think this is just a feature for this type of game at the core gameplay level, so I'm not surprised your experience up to this point follows that.

I hope you enjoy Chapter 3 as much when you get there! Its pretty different than the first two.

Glad to see the Chapter 3 update!Haven't try it yet but have been playing through 1&2 several days.

At first, I think 3 players are the easiest, but I changed my mind.I still can't beat Chapter 2 in 3 players game ;( Not enough dps to deal with the ATK3 enemies if I don't use a guild which can stop the enemies' attack.

Have won two times with two players.(Lore+Thief&Government+Celestial)It really surprised me that the two seems most supportive guilds team can win. After some games,I start using a bag, throwing the 6 guild cards in,shuffle it and random pick guilds from it.

Looking forward to the new guild profession cards(or T2 upgrade profession cards?).

Thanks for the question, Goose God. If you flip to the second to last page of the instructions manual it lays out the Campaign mode of play. That is how the game is designed but it isn't the only way to play. Regardless of how players gain access to the profession cards, each player only chooses 2 to bring in. This will become more relevant when we get to the expansions as each guild will have new profession cards at that time.
