Blood Angels Faction - PvP/PvE Base Game Balance

Hello There!

This is my Blood Angels Faction Mod that has been balanced for use with the base game factions. This mod is meant to be equal in overall strength, but different, to the standard Space Marines. Most units that share a name, share stats - however there are some notable differences. This mod is meant to be balanced around the strength of all the factions as determined by the developers/codex. If you use Gladius+ Scaling instead of Normal Scaling please click here Gladius+ Size Scaling. Please note you will need to subscribe to this mod as well as the Gladius+ Size Mod as the Gladius+ Mod only affects scaling now.

You can click this link for my Vanilla Scaling Improved Space Marines Mod. The Improved Space Marine Mod is a bundle of Improvements for a more enjoyable PvE experience but is not balanced for play against other players.

This mod is faction complete including a full quest line, textures, models, traits, etc - it has everything that a full DLC faction would have except an intro cinematic. It will continue to be balanced around the rest of the factions in the base game. It is 100% compatible with mods that do not affect the regular space marines faction; it is 99% compatible with mods that affect normal space marines; you may lose functionality of traits that require allied space marines ( such as the Predator Killshot ) if you install mods that affect the regular marines.

Here are the changes versus regular Space Marines:

Faction Changes
  • Vehicles that do not have a transportation capacity cost 10% more than the regular Space Marine Faction. Tactical Marines and Thunderfire cannons also cost 10% more than regular.
  • Tactical Doctrine, Terminators, Teleport Homers, Hunter-Killer Missile and Stormtalon Gunship have been removed
  • All Units have the Furious Charge Trait

Tech Tree:
The Tech Tree is in a different order and several techs have been replaced, please see the pictures for a listing of all the techs in tree, notable changes and new techs and units are listed below:

Tier 1
  • Assault Doctrine - This tech now unlocks both the Assault Doctrine and the Baalite Assault Marines. These Marines have exchanged their bolt pistols for hand flamers which do additional damage to groups. They cost 45REQ instead of 40REQ like a standard Assault Marine.
Tier 3
  • Close Combat Mastery - Given the Melee focus, this has been moved earlier in the tech tree.
Tier 4
  • Furioso Dreadnought - The Furioso Dreadnought replaces the Standard Dreadnought, it costs 65REQ instead of 60REQ and it has 1 additional melee attack and 4 additional HP.
Tier 5
  • Dreadnought Librarian - Librarian has been eliminated from Tier 3 and Dread Librarian has been added to Tier 5. This Librarian has traded their flesh body for a Dreadnought casket. They have the same stats as a Furioso Dreadnought except they carry a Flamer instead of a Storm Bolter. The unit costs 40REQ, 25ENG, and 80INF.
  • Veteran Infantry Improvements - This gives 0.5hp/model to basic infantry units and gives +1 armor to all infantry units.
Tier 6
  • The Flesh is Weak - This doctrine is available earlier in the tech tree as part of the infantry oriented focus.
  • Sanguinary Launch Pads - This tech is available earlier and gives access to the Stormraven Transport; it has lost all of it's extra armament compared to a gunship and it cannot be improved, it has 1 additional transport capacity and it costs 50REQ and 50ENG compared to 60/60 of the standard gunship. The standard gunship is available later in the tech tree as usual; the Stormtalon Gunship is unavailable.
Tier 7
  • Predator - The Predator is available in Tier 7 instead of Tier 4, delayed as part of the Infantry focus of the faction.
  • First Company Task Force - The First Company Task Force unlocks Terminators and Vanguard Assault Marines which are outlined below.
Tier 9
  • Baal Predator - The Baal Predator Tech unlocks the Medium Ranged Assault Cannon and Short Ranged Firestorm Cannon variants of the standard Predator. The Baal versions have access to an additional ability Overcharge Engine, which is similar to turbo boost but only adds 1 additional movement. Both are available for 70REQ versus 65 of the standard Predator.
  • Blood Chalice - Adds the Blood Chalice Trait which provides 0.5 additional melee attacks.
Tier 10
  • Halo of Sanguinius - Provides a 17% Ranged Damage Invulnerable Save to Assault Marines, Vanguard Marines, and Furioso Dreadnoughts.
  • Red Thirst Doctrine - Adds the Red Thirst Doctrine which allows 1 additional member hit by melee attacks. It costs 80INF.
  • Death Company Deep Strike - Allows you to orbitally deploy Death Company Assault Marines from stasis onto the battlefield. It costs 100REQ, 40INF, 4REQ Upkeep, and has a 2 turn cooldown.

New Units
  • Death Company Captain - Replaces the standard Captain. This Captain has been overtaken by the Black Rage; he has lost the ability to self heal but gained the ability to move through cover and does additional melee damage. He costs 45REQ instead of 40REQ.

  • Sanguinary Priest - Replaces the standard Chaplain. This unit has also lost the ability to heal, but has instead gained the ability to summon a unit of Death Company, extremely powerful assault marines that expire after 5 turns.

  • Death Company - A special unit of 6 assault marines who have been overtaken by the Black Rage; they have increased damage and damage reduction as well as being fearless but can only be used temporarily by utilizing the elite ability of the Sanguinary Priest to summon a temporary unit or may be purchased with the Tier 10 Technology Death Company Deep Strike.

  • Assault Terminators - These terminators use a pair of Lightning Claws, making them excellent at melee and able to be upgraded by all melee upgrades/effects but no longer carry storm bolters making them useless against enemy flyers. They cost 80REQ.

  • Flame Terminators - These terminators use a Hand Flamer instead of a Storm Bolter and cost 85REQ.

  • Vanguard Assault Marines - This Tier 7 Assault Squad has 8 Members instead of 5 and costs 80REQ, it is the same as a standard Assault Squad except for having more models.

  • Baalite Vanguard Assault Marines - This Tier 7 Assault Squad has 8 Members instead of 5 and costs 88REQ, it is the same as a standard Baalite Assault Squad except for having more models.

is chapter 3 relic of the primarch survive the invasion and kill all invaders meant to end up with no enemies and the quest not finished?

Awesome mod. If you make Cities+ and Brutal Cities compatibility addon, this would be one of the best mods out there.
