How to counter TF2 Hackers / Bots - ENGINEER GUIDE

This guide will teach you how to counter bots as engineer, this is used to stop the bots path-finding and deny entry to a certain area! Engineers are very useful against bot that have a OP aim-bot or are just too strong to defeat.

Entry - What you will need!

You will need -
Any wrench that can build a level 3 sentry.
An area to deny entry to.
OPTIONAL : Rescue Ranger

Step 2 : Sentry Placements!

Usually you have to use your brain with this, usually the hackers will kick players, but bots don't. So you have to place your sentry to deal with normal players and try-hards. I will be using 2 fort for this guide. Usually you would like to block the main spawn room with this sentry placement :


This usually works to deny the bots from entering the main spawn, since it blocks three entry points.
This spot has a downside though as it can still be attacked from behind. So keep your sentry healthy and ask for your team's assistance.


THESE placements, WILL NOT WORK :




[TOP] This will not work since you are leaving the big hallway clear! If you have a second engie to defend the bottom hallway or place the sentry in the location of the first image above, then this COULD work to fend off against players using this as an entry area.
[BOTTOM] This one is easy, sewers undefended and hallway undefended. Your sentry is also at risk of being sniped down, and so are you.

If you are the bully type......THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED BTW!!!



This sentry placement ensures the protection of your intel....But exposes the spawns. You basically killing your team and a major a-hole to people on your team. You might get votekicked.

Extra info.

Just stay out of the sights of the bots, this is where your rescue ranger comes in, if your sentry gets hurt, just shoot it with this! It heals it.
Wrangler is not recommended, since it puts you in line of sight of the bot.
Short circuit is useful for dealing with projectiles, mostly.Take care of em pesky soldiers an' demos.

These sentry placements have been tested by me and they seem to work for now, so if you catch yourself in danger or your team is too stupid, NGL most are.... Just swap to engie and use these placements to protect yourself and possibly your team!
