The Blackguard Class Mod

"No rest, no peace, for this wretched soul..."

The Blackguard is an all new class mod based on an original design by S-Purple. A silent, accursed undead knight with a penchant for the dark arts, the Blackguard functions as a frontline tank and healer, able to take a heavy beating while keeping his team alive. While playable in any light level, many of his skills will drain the torch, while making him more effective in low light. In addition, while camping, he has a chance to suffer an encounter with a miniboss: the dreaded Revenant!

"An implacable force on the battlefield, the Blackguard relies on terrible black magic to toy with life and death, dragging his foes into an early grave. His censers, holding captive innumerable souls, can restore vitality to his teammates while in turn draining his own. When all lights are snuffed, the Blackguard's true strength is unleashed!"

"The accursed Blackguard has no need for rest, and may protect his teammates with his constant vigilance and black arts as the campfire burns.He is not alone in repose, however; a terrible vengeful spirit haunts his every step. Fear the Revenant!"




Pulverize

XXOO OOXX
The Blackguard swings his mace to pummel his enemies to dust.

Standard melee attack. Gains damage at lower torchlight.

Life Steal

XOOO OOOO
The Blackguard drains the very life from his enemies, replenishing his censers with fresh souls.

Low damage ranged attack. Bleeds the enemy and self heals. Debuffs unholy enemies for heavy -bleed resistance.

Relinquish

XOOO
The Blackguard unleashes some of the power in his censers, giving up his own life force to heal an ally.

Single target heal. Damages the Blackguard. Torch down.

Blearing

XOOO O+OXX
The Blackguard blinds his enemies with dark magic.

Front line enemy debuff for -accuracy, and -accuracy again vs marked. Torch down.

Death Grip

XXOO - OOOO
The Blackguard calls on the dead to ensnare an enemy, dragging them forward to meet their maker.

Low damage. Pulls enemy forward 1. Debuffs their damage and speed while buffing Blackguard for the same values. -Torch.

Call of the Grave

XOOO O+O+O+O
The Blackguard wrenches the dead from the ground, calling them up to tear his enemies to pieces.

Medium damage AOE. Clears all corpses. +damage at lower torchlight. -Torch.

Inexorable

OOOO
The Blackguard fortifies himself with fell energies, making himself an unmovable object.

Once per battle. Self buff for +prot, +healing received, and -damage from Relinquish. Immobilizes self.


Unending Vigil

Time Cost: 2
The Blackguard never rests, keeping eternal watch over his companions.

Prevents nighttime ambush. High chance to self stress. NOTE: Nighttime ambush prevention will not prevent an attack from the Revenant!

Black Pact

Time Cost: 3
The Blackguard shares his dark magic with a companion.

-25 torch. Ally takes 10 stress, but gains +crit in low torchlight, and extra healing received from Relinquish.

On a Pale Horse

Time Cost: 3
The Blackguard conjures a skeletal steed for himself.

-25 torch. Self buff for +speed and crit in low torchlight.

Exequies

Time Cost: 4
The Blackguard performs secret funeral rites, while weaving his dark magic to strengthen his companions.

-25 torch. Cures self death's door debuffs. The party gain extra prot and deathblow resist in low torch. Other party members take some stress.

• The Blackguard is religious, despite appearances.
  
• He uses the Outsider's Bonfire.
  
• His default name is Urquhart.
  
• He is mute, and cannot speak. All barks have been overwritten for this, but it's possible there's some I missed. Please let me know in the comments if so!
  
• On crit, he gains extra healing done and drains the torch.
  
• This mod comes with 10 class specific trinkets for Blackguard, including Crimson Court, COM, and Sunward Isles, as well as three all class trinkets dropped by the Revenant.
  
• He has a town event so you can get one immediately.
