Welcome to the Call of Duty Tweak Guide
This guide will cover how to tweak Call of Duty to run and look better on more modern machines.
NVIDIA Graphics Setup
To begin with, we need to configure our graphics settings for the Call of Duty .exe file.

I only have a computer with a NVIDIA card, so I won't be able to demonstrate the same things for AMD

Side Note: Intel cards are not very friendly with this game and some things may look a bit weird (e.g. water looking like a static picture)

Right click an empty space on your desktop and click on "NVIDIA Control Panel" (on AMD, start catalyst control center)

Click on "Manage 3D Settings" below "3D Settings" on the left pane.

In here, click on "Add"

Now we'll have to select the Call of Duty executable (CoDSP.exe)

It should be there like in the image above. If it isn't, we can add it manually. Click on "Browse"

Default Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty\CoDSP.exe

You can do the same thing with the multiplayer executable which is called "CoDMP.exe"

Make sure the game is set to run on the NVIDIA Graphics Card.

Make sure your settings are the same as in below:

If these settings cause any problems on your machine (e.g. game crashes), feel free to set them to their original defaults.

Most of these settings should also be available on the Catalyst Control Center.

In-Game Settings
We'll have to change a few in-game settings to make things look better.

Make sure your settings are the same as in below:

Sync Every Frame is recommended due to screen-tearing fixes + (some stuff like walking animation looks weird when its turned off) even if it locks your FPS.

Playing in Widescreen Resolutions
To play in a widescreen resolution (normally not available in game settings), we'll have to add a few parameters to the Launch Options.

Right click Call of Duty in your library, click on Properties.

Click on "Set Launch Options"

Let's say our resolution is 1920x1080 for example, then we'll have to add this:

+set r_mode -1 +set r_customwidth 1920 +set r_customheight 1080

If your resolution is 1366x768 for example, you would type:

+set r_customwidth 1366 +set r_customheight 768

The FOV looks decreased after doing this modification, to make it look like how it is normally, add the following parameter:

+set cg_fov 95

The main menu will look like a stretched 4:3 menu now (also HUD elements), but your in-game vision will be seen in the resolution you've specified in the parameters.
ReShade Graphics Mod

(you can download the mod from the video description)

As you can see up there, the ReShade mod will add a shader which will make your game look a lot better in terms of graphics.

Although, I don't recommend this myself, it can sometimes cause issues with the game (e.g. crashes on some video cards) and also, I have no guarantee it won't get you banned in multiplayer (shaders can sometimes be exploited to use hacks, and some servers with plugins might detect ReShade as a hacked shader and ban you from the server)

It's up to you to use the ReShade mod.
(Additional) Complete Savegame
Below, is an archive with every autosave (in Greenhorn difficulty), if you're stuck in a level in a specific section or your machine caused issues with the game and transitioning from one level to another crashes the game etc. then you can use this to play a level from the beginning or a chapter of a level.

Additional save file:

credits.svg (a small savegame created to load the credits if the option doesn't appear at the main menu + to add Restart Level option for the credits)

To install these save files, copy the "autosave" folder in the archive to

Default directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty\Main\save

If you can't see the saves in-game, then try copying the files to

Default directory: %localappdata%\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty\Main\save

hello, have you tried to press scroll lock after installing?

Thanks man, game felt like new again after all these years.

The reshading is something awful to install, tried it all and in the end it just didn't work so don't recommend installing it either.
