Introduction
So you have seen x tactic or have learned a mann vs machine fact, and you wish to experiance them for yourself. But there is a problem with that, as going into games, picking your class without any care for any other players who just want to play the game and do nothing but that will just end up failing, annoying other players and causing just a bad time in general.

Thats why I have created this guide. It's for the people who just either:

A) Want to mess around
B) Practice a move or tactic x class can do such as:

  • Resetting the bomb
  • Giant rage launching
  • Practicing headshots on certain robots as sniper

And so on.

Now then, lets begin.
Step 1: Creating the server

From the main menu, you should see the server button. On the server button aswell you should see a + sign.

Click on the + sign as shown here. From there you should be brought up to this:

Here is where you can select your map. For this guide I will be picking decoy. If you click on the game tag next to the server tag at the top you will then be brought to this:

Here you can set a password up so people will have no idea what it is and will be unable to join the server. This is very handy for those who keep having people joining their servers and messing things up. I myself never use this, never had a guy join my server while I was practicing. Some people say that nobody can join the server, but for those who do, use this.

Once you are finished here, go back onto the server tag and then press 'start'.
Step 2: Enabling the developer console

Once your server has been loaded up pick a class and then press esc.

From here, look at the bottem of your screen and press the options button. Then this should come up:

From here, press 'advanced' and then you will be greeted with this:

Tick the box with 'enable developer console' and then press 'ok'.

Then, on the 'keyboard' tab, scroll down to the bottem section of the controls 'missculanious'. From there you should see an option called 'toggle developer console'. Assign the button to whatever you want, then press 'apply', then press 'ok'.
Step 3: Using the devloper console
Well done! You can now use the developer console!

Now, you just need to learn how to use it.

To begin, press the button to whatever you assigned the console to and then this should come up:

This is the devloper console. Home of commands and other stuff.

Now before we can start using any cheats, we're gonna have to type in a command which will allow us to do so.

The command I speak of is:

sv_cheats 1

Exactly like that. You can copy and paste it if you feel lazy.

Once you typed it in, press 'submit'.

And well done, you can use cheats now!

But wait, I don't know any cheats!

Thats why I will make a list of helpful cheats for you to use.

List of cheats
god -This cheat will make you unkillable.

noclip -Self-explainitory. Let's you clip through everything for anyone who doesn't know.

Currency_give (Number) -Gives you cash depending on what number you typed in

tf_mvm_jump_to_wave (Number) -This cheat will bring you to any wave you desire in the current mission you are in. If you want to pick another mission, call a vote to do so.

Addcond 5 -Provides unlimited uber to yourself

Addcond 11 -Provides unlimited crits to yourself

Impulse 101 -Gives you the effects of a resupply cabnet upon entering. It doesn't work constantly, so either bind it or copy it and do Ctrl+V then enter.
Have fun!
Now that you know how to practice the easy peasy way, you should be able to do and learn tactics in Mann Vs Machine, which will greatly improve your skill and knowledge and become ready for the higher missions!

Thanks for reading! Have a great day!

I'm not entirely certain, but I do believe people can join the server if the relevant ports have been forwarded in the router. This is usually not the case, but nevertheless common enough for a password function to be warranted.

@Dusk
I'm not 100% sure if someone can actually join your server when you make it. People say no-one can, but it's safe to assume that because of the option to put on passwords and such, there is a chance that someone might join your server.

Relating to the robot spawning issue, thats normal when it's just you. Less players = less robots. It makes the game more fair.

i also have a problem were the bots spawn one at a time and the console puts up this error : .
CreatePlayerBot: Unable to create bot TFBot - CreateFakeClient() returned NULL.
