Description
This is a custom built class intended for use with SynergiesMOD. It combines elements of the four base classes, though it primarily uses re-skinned/re-flavored skills from the Berserker and the Embermage. The Arcane Blade is a melee/caster hybrid with some tanking capability, though it is still a work in progress. That being said, any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Arcane Blades are highly-trained soldiers serving the Empire. Like the Embermage, they too meticulously analyze the properties of Ember and go through a rigorous training regimen. However, they have learned how to channel magical energies through their weapons and can incorporate some of the Embermages affinity for destruction directly into their fighting style. The end result is a versatile mix of magical and martial might.

Arcane Blades have three skill trees:

Combat Casting (Melee DPS)
-Arc Blade - A wide sweeping strike that deals a percentage of weapon damage and applies a DoT that deals electric damage
-Storm Invocation - Self buff that adds electrical damage to melee attacks & gives a chance to arc to multiple enemies
-Warcry - PBAoE debuff that slows and weakens enemy defenses
-Meteor Strike - A short lunge that leaves a small AoE at the point of impact, dealing fire damage over time
-Battle Trance - Self buff that increases damage output for each enemy nearby
-Delayed Blast - Single target melee attack that knocks a foe away and causes them to explode
-Earthbreaker - Large area AoE that deals damage as well as knocks back foes and weakens them

-Arcane Blending (Passive) - Grants a general damage buff and chance to stun when wielding a single one-handed melee weapon
-Truestrike (Passive) - Melee attacks apply an armor debuff on hit
-Discharge (Passive) - Attacks against stunned enemies deal bonus electrical damage based off strength

-Elements (Ranged/AoE DPS)
-Flame Barrage - Maintainable skill that deals fire damage in a line
-Cone of Cold - Short range cone that deals ice damage and applies armor and movement debuffs
-Lightning Orb - Summons a thunderstorm at the target location which deals periodic electrical damage to nearby enemies
-Blazing Nova - AoE that deals fire damage at the target location
-Arctic Blast - Line AoE that deals ice damage while bouncing around the battlefield
-Blade Beam - Maintainable skill that deals electric damage in a short range line
-Cataclysm - Large AoE that deals fire damage and blinds enemies, adds electric damage at higher tiers (unfinished, currently using vanilla Glacial Shatter as a placeholder)

-Charge Mastery (Passive) - Builds charge faster and reduces degradation
-Elemental Attunement (Passive) - Increases chances of applying elemental effects
-Elemental Rage (Passive) - Enemies have a chance to take damage when striking you

Arcana (Tank/Utility)
-Magic Missile - Fires missiles that seek out foes and deal fire, ice, electric, and poison damage
-Shield Bash - Strikes an enemy with your shield, stunning, slowing and dealing knockback
-Phoenix Invocation - Self buff that grants an aura which deals fire damage to nearby enemies, reduces incoming damage by a percentage at higher tiers
-Lightning Rush - A short lunge that deals electric damage and gives a chance to recover mana
-Healing Circle - Summons a circle that grants increased health regen and damage reduction/reflection to allies
-Arcane Shield - Grants a shield that gives damage reduction and has a chance to reflect missiles (unfinished, currenly using vanilla Ice Shield as a placeholder)
-Astral Reaver - Summons an Astral Reaver to battle your foes (currently just a clone of the Outlanders Shadowling Brute skill)

-Enhanced Fortitude (Passive) - Grants a bonus to physical armor and reduces physical damage by a percentage
-Resist Energy (Passive) - Reduces fire, ice, electric, and poison damage by a percentage
-Arcane Infusion (Passive) - Grants increased attack speed, dodge chance, block chance, and health regen

-Cataclysm: Change main damage type to fire, change Tier 2 bonus damage type to electric/ice
-Arcane Shield: Add damage reduction (?)
-Astral Reaver: Change to use custom creature(?)

Am I the only one who's weapon starts to do some really strange stuff when using Arc Blade?

I'm having the issue of my guy/the Arcane Bladein general being a bit on the squishy side. That, and he basically has no mana. Also, do you know of a way to get this class to be recognized by the Rapid Respec? I just want to change the difficultylol

Ah, also it may have to be the fact I have no charge decay delay or +charge rate.... -facepalms. >_> Excuse me, while I hit myself with the derp bat.

My stats currently, using 10 stats/level up mod, is 200 Str, 200 Dex, 100ish Focus and 50 Vitality. Using a 800+ dps longclaw sword (due to enchantments/damage gems). I am focusing entirely on arc blade, lightning rush, debuff shout, chain lightning 50% chance proc on hit buff, and the +damage per nearby enemy buff, with earthbreaker as my aoe. I dash in, debuff shout, earthbreaker, out of mana, pop pot, spam dash/arc blade to clean up. If i dont finish in 8 seconds, i gotta pop another mana pot, pop earthbreaker/etc again, and usually by then, after 10+ arc blade spam/2 earthbreakers, my charge FINALLY fills up... after everything is dead. <_<

A fair amount of the class's skills are lifted from the vanilla classes and I did my best not to tweak the numbers too much. Arc Blade (the skill you're talking about) is pretty much the berserker's Cleave skill, but applies an electric DoT instead of a physical (the bleed damage). I believe Cleave is intended to have a reduced charge generation rate due to it being an AoE as well, so I left that in on Arc Blade. As for mana steal, I'm not 100% certain, but if it works on vanilla skills it should work on most/all of the Arcane Blade's skills as well.

Getting a full charge bar hasn't been too difficult for me. Mana expenditure hasn't been too big of a deal either (most of my active skills are no higher than Rank 5, so low-ish mana costs). Then again, I haven't done much testing at high levels (highest I've gotten so far is about mid 30s) so I'll have to take a look at rebalancing some stuff when I get there.

Just out of curiousity, what specific stats/skills are you focusing on?

Well, so far my arcane blade has hit level 52 with no issues now. Fun as hell, to. Though I do feel like im becoming more and more of a mana whore (going mix of melee dps/tank hybrid, just for the dodge/attack speed, damage reduction passives). Like, just using 3 spells and im out of mana and gotta chug a huge mana flask every battle. Its also becoming harder to get charge, as the lightning cleave (Forgot the name atm) is like, nah, you get like 1% charge for using me. I clear an area, go to the next, its all gone. I get more charge just using my auto attack. And this is with up to -8% total skill cost enchantments/items. Does mana steal apply to any of the blades skills?

Hey all. Just got done spending some time going over the Arcane Blending stacking issue again. Turns out I had missed a typo that was preventing the affix from being properly removed. Should be fixed now. Enjoy!

I love the class, fun as hell but, alas, the damage passive is bugging for me to. Before I realized the bug, I was already up to about 600% damage or more from rank 1. Im considering re-rolling without taking a rank in that particular perk, but I feel like its a major thing for the class. : (

I think the problem is the fact its listed as a buff with a duration of permanent. Most passives do not actually show up on your 'active buff/spell effects'. So everytime you change your equipment, the old, permanent buff stays behind and a new one re-applies, stacking with the old.

Had the problem exactly same as GTD, and tried to adjust it by doing the same method as mr1029384756.....but does not seem to be able to bypass the bug...
