This was seriously weird.  We were playing QUEST FOR THE CURSE OF THE CRIMSON CAULDRON in REC ROOM in Virtual Reality and made it through to the final boss fight against the Queen Witch in the Tower and the game started doing some very weird things we had never seen before – this was right after the new AI update push for the game.

At first, the Witch began throwing her power balls but they would just go only a few feet in front of her then just hang there in space.  Then all the minons didn’t spawn the next wave.  Then the witch vanished and we found her floating OUTSIDE the tower far away under the beautiful moon.  This video is a few moments from when it seemed like she had vanished, to finding her outside, to a few minions finally spawning in, to her defeat.  Seriously, things got so very weird.  We’ve never seen this behavior before.

Multiple VR headsets, cross-platform co-op play.  Oculus Quest and HTC Vive . . . four players, four times the fun!  It was not our best game (actually, it was a really poor run for us as we were purposefully trying new things and kept getting killed).  Yes, I only got ten tokens from the treasure chest as I have completed the quest enough that I already have all the special items.

Dr. Brian David Phillips (GentleWolf, Oculus Quest) is joined by Michael Cheng (Morfindir, Oculus Quest), zombie expert Timothy Fox (GrandfatherHu, Oculus Quest) and awesome sorceress LorrainePhillips (HTC Vive) as they give Co-Op play in REC ROOM in the Quest for the Curse of the Crimson Cauldron and give it a go on multiple VR platforms . . . in glorious VIRTUAL REALITY!  Will they be swarmed and mutilated LARPish monsters created by a high school drama department?  Will they persevere and beat the game? Oh, yes they will!  Despite so very much WEIRD!!!!
