How to block certain servers in CS:GO

This guide will show you how to block certain servers in CS:GO to prevent matching with non-English speakers or for sightseeing purposes.

Getting SteamRouteTool

You can download the program from its Github page[github.com]. Click on the SteamRouteTool.zip to begin downloading.

This program does not install in your system and can be 'uninstalled' just by removing its folder.

You can also alternatively compile the program from source[github.com].

The program itself

After running the SteamRouteTool.exe you are presented with this window:


Click the checkboxes to block servers from being accessed.

Clear Rules - deletes every firewall rule created by this program
About - shows the information about author
Ping Routes - refreshes displayed ping of servers

Program creates Windows Defender Firewall rules, you can see them in Windows Security -> Firewall & network protection -> Advanced Settings -> Outbound Rules

Blacklist mode

By default program does not block anything, you have to manually scroll and block each server you don't want to play on.
If you wish to block one server in a city you can click on city's name.

Whitelist mode

By clicking on Blocked you can block all the available servers and start unblocking ones you want to play on.

Playing with friends

If you want to play with friends using this program, every single one of you have to block the same servers otherwise game will show "A match was found for you, but %s1 failed to accept it." error.
If you still have the problem then restart the game after choosing optimal servers.

Most common problems/questions

• "A match was found for you, but %s1 failed to accept it."
  Usually restart of the game fixes this. Sometimes happens when you block certain servers that don't exist in CS:GO or when your friends don't have the same blocked servers.
  
• I'm being put into blocked servers despite blocking them.
  Reduce your Max Acceptable Matchmaking Ping in game settings to closer values shown in program next to unblocked server's name. This happens because backends of unblocked servers can still send you to blocked servers.
  
• I don't wanna play with Eastern Europeans. What do I block?
  Blocking Frankfurt, Stockholm, Vienna and Warsaw should drastically decrease amount of non-English speakers in your games.
  
• Can I get a VAC ban from this?
  I have been using this since February 2020 and haven't seen anybody getting banned for this. If you are worried about this then run the program only when you are not in a match.

Too bad you cant block servers anymore.
Id love to block fra2 since the connection is super jittery, but somehow on fra1 its perfectly fine. And on my local server... oh boy better not start bragging about orange isp routing...
Playing CSGO on LTE+ is a freaking nightmare...
valve pls do something with this infrastructure...
