Common scam ways

The scammers usually say something like this:

hey, i wanna prank my friend with a screenshot could you place all your good items in a trade and accept, then cancel at 2 seconds? ill give you 1000 credits as a reward

Then, the guy invites you to the party.
When you're at the trade screen, he'll invite you in Steam chat to a group chat.
Then, the guy will make as he said, but when its 3 seconds, he'll kick you out of the group chat, and that leaves the Rocket League window (it remains open) and when you come back the scammer has already taken all your items.

WAYS TO DON'T BE A SCAM VICTIM

• DO NOT enter group chats of scammers
  
• DO NOT accept things like the written above
  
• DO NOT log in into phishing sites, or something that isn't in Steam or in-game.

Another very common scam way is the non-Steam/in-game sites. If you log in into one, maybe you'll lose not only Rocket League items and account, but the WHOLE gmail account. Watch out because this is the most common scam way.

Planet Trade! Rocket League World! Its really cool, they make free items giveaway! Yay!

This is another scam way. First thing: Dont enter none of these groups or accept group invites. In Planet Trade, you can see 10K people have been pranked by this ********** that is Rocket League giveaway groups. I was in PT, until I discover that, when I received the following notification:

Discontinued Items & Reasons

Items that aren't available anymore to get (only available in trades now):

Uncommon version of the common/exotic wheels (Dieci, Veloce, Spyder, etc.) - With Non-crate exotics release, they removed their uncommon versions.
Pink Macaron Antenna - It looked same as default.
Crimson Aether Wheels - Looked same as default.
Fan Rewards of RLCS 9 to before - Self-explanatory. When a new RLCS starts, they create new rewards and old aren't obtainable anymore.
Grey Mainframe Decal - Looked same as Titanium White.
Import bodies painted black - Looked same as default.
Crimson & Burnt Sienna Dynamo Wheels - Crimson looked almost the same as default, Burnt Sienna i really dont know.
Sky Blue Triplex Wheels - Looked same as default.
Alpha Rewards - Gold Rush, Goldstone and Gold Cap aren't available anymore to obtain since 2015. It was only for who played in RL's Alpha Stage (2014-2015).
Beta Reward Gold Nugget - Was only available in Beta Stage, 3-5 months before Rocket League release.
Licensed DLCS - Jurassic Park, Batman, Skyline and others were removed (temporarily i think) from the Steam Store. They may return one day probably, because it was a very good money font to Psyonix (t-rex explosion xD)

Only way to obtain them (except DLC items) are trading. Price table:

Uncommon Wheels: Add 500 credits to their exotic versions in black. Other colors almost don't change.
Pink Macaron: 5000-12000 credits.
Crimson Aether: 5000.
Fan Rewards vary, TW Apex is 40.000.
Grey Mainframe: Around 2000.
Import bodies painted black: Above 300.
Crimson Dynamo: 1200.
Burnt Sienna Dynamo: 100-200.
Sky Blue Triplex: 100-200.
Alpha Rewards: Above 50k credits.
Beta Nugget: 25k credits.

If you have any of these, try to sell and u'll probably be rich!

Trade Ups

Trade ups are, basically, trade with bots. You pick up to 5 items of any quality (except Black Markets) and receive one of the next quality, for instance, you get 5 uncommons, trade up them and receive a rare. It can be did of all ways:

• 5 Uncommons to 1 Rare
  
• 5 Rares to 1 Very Rare
  
• 5 Very Rares to 1 Import
  
• 5 Imports to 1 Exotic
  
• 5 Exotics to 1 Black Market

The trade up items must have the popular tag "Non-Crate" to be traded in. Otherwise, you get a Crate Rare, for instance, and try to trade in it. You can't. Check the tags in Rocket League Insider.gg; it is reliable, don't needs log in and has all the items price, tags, quality and detailed information about all the game's items.

To trade up, go to Garage > Manage Inventory > Show filters > Quality > Choose one. If you have 5 non-crates of the same quality, you can do a trade up. (Obviously, it won't work with black markets, because there's no rarity after BM's)

Trading

Don't get scammed... The Common scam ways section displays the HACK/PRANK ways of scam, but there's more... The Wrong Payment Scam. For example, you have a Ronin GXT, which price is 50-100 credits. The guy offers 3 Rare items, and you accept. You have lost 20 credits in this *********.

In Rocket League outside pitch, all is based in item's prices. RL Insider.gg is the best site to check out the items price, it has no login requirement and has all detailed info about all items. The only thing that gets close to log in there is select the platform you use, XBOX, PlayStation or Steam. (the prices change depending in your platform, so make sure you selected the one you use)

Three rares, like in my example, has the value of 30 credits (10 each) if they are non-crate. See the values:

Uncommons: No price to the single (10 credits in a couple of 5)
Rares: 10 credits if they are non-crate (crate ones are 0)
Very Rares: 50 Credits in Non-Crates. (crates are 20)
Imports: 100 Credits (if car) in non-crates. (crates are 70)
Exotics: 100 Credits (if wheel 30-50-100) in non-crates. (crates are 30)
Black Markets: 1000+ Credits in Each (if it's mainframe, for instance, it costs 10K credits)

To don't get scammed in trades, make sure to always see the price of the items you are offering and the items the other trader is offering. If it hits the exact price, you can trade with no problem. If not, cancel the trade or say him to offer more things, that hit the value of your item(s).
WARNING: No hard feelings (reference to Portal lol)

Trades in credits are more simple, just check the price and tell the guy to place it. Items price is defined in this way:

Ronin GXT Price: 50-100

First number: Minimum price
-: The prices between the minimum and max (medium price)
Second number: Maximum price (is not very used for obvious reasons)

Terms of trading text

H = Have
W = Want
LTB = Looking to buy
LTS = Looking to sell
LF = Looking for

When the guy say a number sequence, like 4, 7, 11 and 15, its the position of the item they want. Like, you show him your items: Mainframe, zomba, dueling dragons and interstellar. If he say 1 and 3, he wants mainframe and dueling dragons. (this is only a example, not that you will have the four most expensive items of the game lol)

Make sure to ALWAYS write H, LTB, W, LTS inside Brackets ( and ). Post trade offers only in Trading rocket league forum on Steam or Rocket League Garage.

Complete trade sequence: [H] TW Zomba [W] 1700 Credits.

If you wanna trade in ITEMS, make like:

[H] TW Zomba [W] Dueling dragons or TW Draco and Nimbus Grey.

Redeemable codes

To redeem codes, go to Extras > Redeem Code. Type the code or click in the clipboard image to copy it from your clip.

Popcorn - Gives a free popcorn boost
RLNitro - Gives you a free antenna and a Breakout decal.

There are only these codes for free, and there's others, but they are only available for console (more specifically PS4) and can't be redeemed in Steam version. I'm publishing this on Steam so i'll not say what are the PlayStation codes.

There is another "code" but its not a redeem. When you see the "press any button to start" screen, press in the arrow keys: up up down down left right left right B A. You will get a SARPBC screen, and get a free Moai antenna. Also, good music and a cool background stadium (lol)

WARNING: Codes given by the giveaway groups Rocket League World and Planet Trade are scams. Check more in its proper section.

Hints to get fast to Grand Champion

1 - Don't forfeit ranked matches or talk a lot.
2 - Learn freestyle and air drags.
3 - Items don't matter in skill.
4 - Make sure to use one of the top 5 cars, Fennec, Breakout, Dominus, Octane and Merc. Batmobile is good too, but not obtainable anymore (yet).
5 - Octane is good to aerial, Fennec in long range shots, Breakout in flip resets, Dominus freestyle, Merc flicking.
6 - DO NOT, NEVER EVER EVER ask for trades in ranked matches.
7 - Get a good knowledge of the car hitboxes.
8 - Disable chat to "Team quick chat only" because in Champion to up people will start being VEEEEEERY toxic with you (or teammates if 2v2 or up).
9 - Master your car control. There are some workshop packs to do that, like Leth's Rings map.
10 - Master your aim. I'd recommend going for open nets in freeplay and continue scoring them. Allstar striker training helps too.
11 - Use custom training packs. They are very useful.
12 - Dont only use the training packs you are good in. You must master different ones to be good, not the same 4000000 times.
13 - Bind a key to air roll because its very difficult to reach the game's default. I play on kb/m and i use spacebar. You can use anything else tho.

reply to minionex: fennecs wheels are less exposed so when you do an air roll shot with a feennec it hits the corner of the car but if you do it with octane, there is more chance you hit the wheels and you know thats bad

Great guide. Every one needs to know about the 'rocket league esl scam' You get an invite from a friend asking you to join a tournament. It's not your friend, he's been hacked. Don't login to any site through Steam to join a tournament. It's a phishing site. You will lose everything and then they send all your friends the same scam. Set up two factor verification w/ Steam to protect yourself. Search 'rocket league esl scam' and read the reddit posts about it for more information.
