Best ARK PvP Settings !

Hello everyone and thank you for reading my guide ! the reason I decided to make this was that there was no other guides in steam about best PvP settings, specially INI modifications ; I'm not a good pvper my self but I have seen many good ones not knowing the best settings for pvp, so anyways let the guide begin ! (I HAVE NOT DISCOVERED OR CREATED ANY OF THIS)

1)In-Game Settings :

1-Resolution Scale: lower the resolution scale higher the fps , but if you lower it your game will look blurry if you have a good computer don't lower it !

2-World Tile Buffers: its how much of world around you preloads , I suggest medium+ !

3-View Distance: this is the rocks and bushes and stuff you can see , I suggest medium !
(if you are scouting for bases set this to epic so you don't run in to turrets !)

4-Anti-Aliasing: this doesn't really change much , just leave it on medium !

5-Post-Processing: this settings also doesn't change much in game, set it on low for best fps !

6-General Shadows: it makes game look worse , keep on low for higher fps !

7-Terrain Shadows: keep this one on low too !

8-Textures: this depends on your computer , you can set it to low-epic based on your computer power!

9-Sky Quality: very bad slide it all the way to the left !

10-Ground Clutter Density: its the annoying flowers and stuff that you get,slide all the way to the left !

11-Ground Clutter Distance: same as one before slide all the way to the left !

12-Mesh Level Of Detail: depends on your computer, if you are getting bad fps slide it to the left !

13-High Quality Anisotropic Filtering: personal preference, off for better fps !

14-Motion Blur: off !

15-Film Grain: off !

16-Distance Field Ambient Occlusion: off !

17-Screen Space Ambient Occlusion: off !

18-Dynamic Tessellation: off !

19-Distance Field Shadowing: off !

20-High-Quality Materials: personal preference, off for better fps !

21-Sub Surface Scattering: if you are getting really bad fps turn it off !

22-High-Quality VFX: off !

23-Simple Distance Character Movement: on !

24-High-Quality LODs: if you are getting really bad fps turn it off !

25-Extra Level Streaming Distance: this is very useful, I suggest enabling it , but if you are getting bad fps you can turn it off !

26-Color Grading: on !

27-Light Bloom: off !

28-Light Shafts: off !

29-Low Quality Level Streaming: off !

30-UI General Scale: personal preference !

31-UI Item Slots Scale: personal preference !

32-Camera Shake Scale: slide all the way to the left !

33-Camera FOV: slide all the way to the right !

34-Look Left/Right Sensitivity: personal preference !

35-Look Up/Down Sensitivity: personal preference !

36-Invert Y: off !

37-Third Person Camera Offset: off !

38-Disable Third Person Camera Interpolation: on !

I hope this covered everything (xD) lets move to advanced settings !!

2)Advanced Settings :

1-Client Network Bandwidth: personal preference !

2-Inventory Access Sounds: personal preference !

3-Melee Camera Animation: off !

4-Blood Damage Overlays: on !

5-Floating Names: this gives you fps boost if you are living in a huge base with lots of dinos, but otherwise I suggest enabling it !

6-Join Notifications: on !

7-Chat Bubbles: personal preference !

8-Camera View Bob: off !

9-First Person Riding: off !

10-Status Notifications: on !

11-Fahrenheit Temperature: personal preference !

12-Auto Chatbox: personal preference !

13-Hide Server Info: personal preference !

14-Torpidity Effect: off !

15-Chat Show Online ID: personal preference !

16-Chat Show Tribe Name: personal preference !

17-Toggle To Talk: personal preference !

18-Allow Crosshair: on (unless you have a custom crosshair)

19-Allow Hitmarkers: on !

20-Color Item Names: personal preference !

21-Disable Menu Transitions: on !

22-No Tooltip Delay: on !

23-Disable Menu Music: personal preference !

24-Give Default Survivor Items: personal preference !

25-Hide Floating Player Names: off !

26-Quick Toggle Item Names: on !

27-Show Item Selector Button: on !

28-Play Action Wheel Click Sound: personal preference !

29-Toggle Extended HUD Info: personal preference !

30-Animation Staggering: off !

31-Low Quality Animations: off unless fps is really bad !

ok and this is all the advanced settings , lets move to the next part :)

3)Launch Options:

Launch options do a huge fps boost in ark , and I recommend it to everyone , to set launch options you have to:

1. Right-click on Ark Survival Evolved under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
2. Under the General tab click the Set launch options... button.
3. Copy and paste launch options you wish to apply and click OK.
4. Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

now that you know how to apply launch options here are the launch options:

-sm4 -d3d10 -nomansky -lowmemory -novsync -high

just simply copy and paste !

we are done here lets move to the final part !

4)INI Modifications:

INI modifications are just simple changes in game files that are legal , they make you see clear underwater , not get affected by plant z flash , plant x blindness and ... they are very useful for pvp !
so first of all you need to know how to find the INI file ! here is how:

1. Right click on Ark Survival Evolved in your steam library and select Properties.
2. On top of the window opened there are 4 tabs, click on Local Files.
3. Then click on Browse Local Files.
4. This will open your ark folder, now go to Engine folder.
5. After that you are in Engine folder, go to Config folder.
6. There is a file called ConsoleVariables.ini right click on it and click on edit.
7. Remove everything that is in there.(don't forget to backup the original file)
8. Copy and paste this[pastebin.com] in it.
9. Save.
10. Close and launch the game after saving.

there are some downsides using modified INIs for example not being able to see numbers on dedicated storages and letters on billboards , xray on tek railgun and tek helmet sensors not working but don't worry there are ways to fix thembut fixing them disables some perks like seeing clear underwater and not getting flashed anyways here is how to fix it :

1. For Dedicated Storages and Letters On Signs: Remove "ShowFlag.Fog=0" from your INI !

2. For Xray on Railgun and Tek Helmet Sensors: Remove "ShowFlag.Materials=0" and "r.CustomDepth=0" from your INI !

BY DOING THE 2 STEPS ABOVE YOU WILL MAKE YOUR INI LEGAL BECAUSE IT WILL NOT REMOVE FLASH , PLANT X , CLEAR UNDERWATER VIEW ANYMORE !

USING INI MAKES SNOW BLACK IN GENESIS (small price to pay for salvation)

How to have higher than max FOV and lower than minimum sensitivity (thanks to 123):
Browse local files then go to ShooterGame => Saved => Config => WindowsNoEditor
then right click on GameUserSettings.ini , click on edit , look for FOVMultiplier ,1.250000 is slider max you can increase it but DO NOT SET ABOVE 1.500000. You can also go to the same file and look for LookLeftRightSensitivity and LookUpDownSensitivity to set sensitivity below the slider minimum !
*Don't forget to save after editing !!!*

How To Enable Xray and ... in your INI

Ark is famous for run away fps ramping it up to between 90 and 130 all the time it simple truth is unless you have a special monitor you cant use any more than the monitor will take and the rest goes to over heating the GPU and CPU try hitting the tab key while in the game and typing this t.maxfps 60 all lower case with a space betweenfps and 60 that will throttle down ark to 60 fps which is 95 percent of all monitors and or tv screens anyway and will relieve the gpu and cpu from over stressing and heating up cool means performance Do remember you have to type that command everytime you log onto ark so until you remember it write it down
