Description
Ru & Zo are a pair of robots that play as a dual-fighter! Each robot has its own attacks and moves, which can be performed independently of each other.

Ru is the humanoid mech. His moveset consists of grounded normals and aerials. Ru is a rushdown fighter, his fast moves allow for easy combo strings. However, his kill potential is very lacking, and has to rely on Zo for his recovery.

Zo is the tank crab. Her moves consist of strong attacks and specials. Zo is a zoner fighter, her moves have more range and kill potential than Ru. Many of her specials interact with Ru is some way or form, and her strong attacks can be performed in the air.

Mechanics:

Ru & Zo are a dual fighter, but Ru is the fighter you actually control. Zo is controlled by an ai, and will try to follow Ru around, and recover from offstage if necessary. You can perform attacks with Zo by inputting the attack as normal, even if Ru is already performing an attack himself.

Zo has a seperate percentage than Ru, knockback will be applied to Zo independently from Ru. If Zo is KO'd, she will not respawn until Ru loses his stock.

If Ru is KO'd and Zo is onscreen, she will perform a self destruct sequence, creating an explosion which can hit nearby players.

Instead of a parry, Zo will spawn a shield if she is on the ground and parry is pressed. The shield will tank a single hit before disappearing, while Zo will not be hit. Zo also has slight invincibility for a short while after the shield is hit, just to account for short multihit moves. While in shield, Zo will not move and follow Ru, she will be locked in place. Performing an attack with Zo or pressing parry again will deactivate the shield as well. The shield has a cooldown time before it can be reactivated, shown by the icon on the hud.

You can manually make Zo jump while on the ground by pressing jump when Ru is performing an attack. Tapping jump will make Zo do a shorthop, holding jump will make Zo do a fullhop.

Notable moves:

Strong attacks: All strong attacks can be performed on the ground as well as in the air.

Nspecial: Zo fires an energy bolt which will stun opponents briefly. Can be b-reversed at the start of the move. Tapping special will immediately fire the energy bolt, holding special will lock Zo in place, the bolt will be fired once you press special again. While locked in place, pressing up or down can control the angle of the turret, changing the angle of fire of the energy bolt before firing.

Fspecial: Zo shoots a chain in front of her. The chain has long reach, and will grapple a player, before reeling them in and launching them behind her. Holding up or down can affect the knockback angle and trajectory of the hit players. Fspecial can be used to grapple Ru as well, but Ru will not be damaged during the launch, and Ru will be able to act immediately after being launched.

Uspecial: Zo turns into a rocket and flies into the air. Holding left or right will angle Zo's trajectory, and holding Uspecial will allow Zo to fly for longer. If Ru is nearby Zo when Uspecial is performed, he will grapple onto Zo and fly up with her. However, when Ru is grappled onto Zo, the maximum distance Zo travels is reduced slightly. Uspecial will be used automatically if Zo is trying to recover from offstage.

Dspecial: Zo will teleport Ru next to her, creating a hitbox in the process. Ru's location of appearance can be affected by pressing in a direction, the location will be relative to Zo. Dspecial is useful for Ru's recovery if Zo is onstage, and can be used in conjunction with Uspecial for recovery if both are offstage.

Other:

Please do note since Zo is an article, it is not a 1 to 1 accurate recreation of a player object, and some physics may behave differently from a real player. This is extremely apparent with hitboxes that hit Zo, some hitboxes that call hit_player.gml may not work properly if they hit Zo, and hitbox effects like fire and stun will straight up not work on Zo. Other hitboxes (especially multihit moves) maybe behave weirdly with Zo, so keep that in mind if you see some hitbox jank.

Zo's hurtboxes can be viewed in practice mode by pressing taunt and special at the same time.

Honestly, I like the character gimmick, it's really cool and isn't done often. I was probably too pissed off at everything to type a rational comment, so I'd like to apologize for being a massive cunt.

I just got really frustrated fighting against anyone using this character. The problem lies in how good the kit on this fighter is, that you need to know specific cheese just to fight fair against them, which makes matches really boring or frustrating.

Put these guys on level nine and they proceeded to send my ass to the Shadow Realm seventeen times in succession, and we only played three stocks.

10/10, would die again.

Not even gonna mention the teleport you can do in case you fall off, that's literally a safety blanket that makes this character busted. All of the moves do great on their own but the combination is literally a fuck you to your opponent.
3/10 not recommended at all for any use. If you want an ice climbers style fighter then go for plusle & minun. This character is busted and unfair to fight against with both vanilla and many modded fighters primarily because the creator did not pay attention to the damage you can dish out with this character.

good concept, poor execution.Mainly because they're too powerful.

A moderate paced projectile that causes you to flinch isn't much of an issue, because normally your opponent would need to dash to you if they were far away. This fucking character sucks a shit ton of dicks because the moment you get hit by the projectile is the moment you go from 0-100% stupid fast. Coupled with how fast the attacks of both characters come out is actually genuinely retarded and is not fun to fight against both A.I. and vs a actual person, because you'll be juggled with no recovery.
