How to Get Unlimited Golden Keys in Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced

This guide will help players get an unlimited supply of golden keys to use in Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced.

Golden keys have been introduced to the original Borderlands experience, which can overwhelm a lot of players, especially those who dislike the golden key system.

Introduction / Prerequisites

Let's face it. The golden key system is potentially the most-disliked feature in Borderlands history. Being introduced in 2012, in the sequel Borderlands 2, golden keys gave players a chance to get some good loot by redeeming codes distributed by developers throughout social media to get golden keys, usable in Sanctuary, Borderlands 2's hub location to earn some powerful loot.

I've made this guide simply to help the people who don't want to scour the internet searching for codes to turn their golden keys into an endless supply of powerful weapons to unleash carnage on their enemies.

NOTICE - YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE GOLDEN KEYS BEFORE DOING THIS.

If you do not have any golden keys, use these code(s) to get some:

How to Get Unlimited Golden Keys

NOTICE - DO NOT HAVE BORDERLANDS RUNNING WHILE YOU'RE DOING THIS

Step One - Locate Your 'profile.bin' File Through the Borderlands GOTY Enhanced Folder

This first part should be easy. By default, the file you're looking for can be found by navigating to your documents. The default path to the file is USER > Documents > My Games > Borderlands Game of the Year > Binaries > Save Data > profile.bin.


Step Two - Mark the File as 'Read Only'

Right-click the 'profile.bin' file then select Properties. From here, under Attributes, check the 'Read Only' tab, then apply the change.






















Step Three - Open Borderlands Game of the Year Enhanced and Open the Golden Chest

Go to Fyrestone or New Haven and open the chest until your golden keys run out or however long you want to. When you want to stop, just save and quit, then return to the Properties window of the 'profile.bin' file and disable 'Read Only', then apply the change. This will revert the amount of golden keys that you had before you enabled 'Read Only'.

You can do this as many times as you'd like, just REMEMBER TO ENABLE 'READ ONLY' then disable it whenever you've used all of your keys, or are done opening chests.

Thanks for the codes - 965BT-56RF6-CJ65B-B3BJJ-CXW39 is the only one that didn't work.

or you could download a trainer when you have at least 1 key, then use the trainer to give unlimted keys (in borderlands 3 in gives 9999 keys dont know how many it gives in borderlands 1
